Mark Hughes - NEW POLL

Sparks must have been making some calls Sunday/Monday to see who is available and interested.

 

I just want to say this. It looks like MH might be on his way having failed to take us to lg1 or entertain the fans. He deserves our respect, he has not derided fans for wanting better he has always said they pay their money they have the right to voice their discontent.

He is a man who I like but obviously not the manager for this club. I will not abuse him now he is at an all time low. I will shake his hand and wish him well.

Last night fans at Tranmere who were singing their disrespect for him are a disgrace to this club.
This is not a Derek Adams situation.

 

I doubt it, from top to bottom at City we are unprepared. We won't have even started looking for a possible replacement.

 

Well if they arent we are in big trouble, the team in freefall confidence must be at all time low, that is a recipe for relegation even at this stage of the season, once the rot sets in its a uphill struggle to pull out of it

 

Whoever the new manager is, one of their first tasks must be to talk to Andy Cook. Ask him what he needs and which players in the current squad does he feel helps him the best. For the short-term we build around our biggest strength.

 

Although I don't see a good ending to this strikes me that Hughes is currently going nowhere, things would need to get a lot worse than they are now, his contract see's to that. I think there's a strong chance of Sparks and others being shown the door too if the owner decides it's another failure on the football side and wants changes. Hughes seems a decent guy the last thing needed is a toxic atmosphere on match days, but for those fans having travelled to an away match and witnessed another disjointed display, as the man in charge he needs to take the flak. Lets hope the type of dumb idiots who don't think anything of making nasty personal threats don't crawl from under their stones.

 

We are now past 12 with 75 hours to the next match. He's going to be here on Saturday. If he was going this week, he would be gone already.

 

We're not that lucky and the owners not that interested

 

The players have lost confidence in him which signifies the end for any manager. Sparks must see this and end his tenure in the best interests of the club although was it coincidence that Rupp stayed with Julian Rhodes and not at a hotel when he came over? Will he bring Rhodes back to help or replace Sparks?

 

I fear you are right, I don't want to be there saturday for more reasons than one......

Right now I’d swap Hughes for any of the other L2 managers or coaches. Can’t imagine they would perform worse.

 

It amazes me we dont give him more aerial service. Whether it be flicking on to assist as in the early weeks or scoring thumping headers, he’s strong in the air. Under Hughes we rarely get him such chances.

 

How long does it take to thrash out the severance stuff? If nothing by 5 pm then fair enough

 

About 30 seconds. Its in Hughes contract so no thrashing, simply applying.

 

The club need to come out and publicly back Hughes if he's staying.
The fans will only get worse if they think game to game they can boo and jeer their way through matches.
Doesn't help.
Club make a statement.
Everyone knows where they stand and focus on the rest of the season.

 

I think Sparks will be hesitant on pulling the trigger as he may be worried on how this will reflect on his own judgement in appointing managers.

 

Or we can't afford it.

 

Lets be honest - 99% of fans were cooing when Hughes was appointed. Big name, only ever managed in the PL, there was genuine excitement so we cannot really fault Sparks for appointing him.

Its not worked out how we wished and its as simple as that.

 

What about bringing in a LG2 manager to work alongside him. Proviso that they must work together and MH must listen. We must do something if we are not sacking him. We can sack the assistant manager though.
