Second half was better till about 70min then the substitutions and we dropped deep to keep what we had
Someone said to me at halftime and i agree Hughes is out of his depth at this level of football

 

Not only Hughes can get it wrong...Howe at Newcastle saw Liverpool skipper sent off and go one up and then...............prat about sitting on 1-0 'til the useless Nunez gets 2 to give Liverpool the win, it always looked like 'Pool would get 1 but not the 2 ....

We can’t keep sacking managers, it’s ridiculous. We need to get out of the league and in my view we can only do that with consistency which enables us to build something on and off the pitch. If we keep pressing the reset button we’ll be here forever. It’s a ‘stick’ not a twist from me.

 

So are you saying if we fail again (because that was the clubs aim last season) you wouldn't show Hughes the door.

 

Thankfully his contract is up at the end of the season, should we fail to go up there should be under no circumstances that Hughes remains in charge. Anything other than promotion is failure to join the endless other number of managers that have failed since Parkinson left.

 

I agree but it was more with regards @Wakefield Bantam commenting "we can’t keep sacking managers" I don't see how Ryan could extend his contract, but stranger things have happened.

 

Cant disagree with that but he has to get a good go at achieving promotuon this season. There are some that wanted rid after Morecambe which would have been total madness.
Its a resounding Stick from me and we evaluate where we are around November time. If we're there or thereabouts then he gets the next window as well. If we are mid/lower table I doubt we'd have to sack him as I'd expect him to shake hands and walk.

 

Give him until Xmas. We won't be anywhere near relegation but if we aren't in touch with at least the playoffs he can go then for me. I want continuity but not at the cost of another wasted season. As for a new contract ? That should only be discussed once we know what division we will be in next season. If it's league 2 then only a fool would give him a new one.

He has a deal until the end of the season anyway - if he doesn't take us up then it probably won't be renewed and I doubt Hughes would have the stomach for a 3rd season anyway.

We have 4 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses this season in all comps. It still baffles me folk are calling for his head.

The Twitter meltdown over his team selection for Wrexham was over the top too. Lots had egg on their faces after the game mind.

 

Yes the amount of people who say we need to concentrate on the league but then have a meltdown at playing a weakened team is very strange, although it’s Twitter so it’s not that surprising.

 

I call them the 'UTFC crew'. The type where Lewis is devoid from any criticism because he said their catchphrase once or the ones that pine after Ryan East because he wore a silly City hat and shirt.
