Not a lover of the man but when interviewed he comes across as a very knowledgably guy, shame his past will alway be a mill stone around his neck but he does get teams promoted, getting Stevenage to the runners up place after finishing 21st 3 points from a relegation place is a wonderful achievement no matter what we think about the guy.

 

He would just split the fanbase here.
When we're together, as we have been this season, then we can really make a difference.
A club needs everyone on the same page to get promoted.

However, as you say you can't knock his record.

 

He will be sacked by Xmas , because that’s what he does?

I would seriously consider sacking Hughes now, I know it’s a bit raw and I’m dreadfully disappointed but taking off Banks for another clogger defender just after we scored is a scandal.

 

Yeah i would too. His style doesn't work and he spent 120 mins on his arse today. The difference between Hughes the player as a warrior, and his gutless style as a manager is stark

 

Hard to forgive Hughes for those two games of playoff football. Some the most negative football I've seen. Never went for it in the first leg. These are the games that show what your manager is made of and he bottled it big time.

 

I wouldn't be considering it I'd be doing it. I posted before the Leyton Orient match that I feared you'd get to the play-offs and fail. By that time I thought the best candidates would have been snapped up by one of the several clubs with vacancies. They haven't been. Three clubs have appointed their caretaker-manager full-time and my number one choice is still out there and available.

I wasn't Hughes Out at all and thought our demise all season was that our squad lacked pace and talent

But that Banks/Platt decision is so woeful, it's inexcusable. It indicates there's something wrong with his brain.

We needed another goal to win it, we've just scored so the momentum is with us, and you take off your talisman winger for a centreback? Indicates the plan is to settle for penalties (absolute cowardice after you've just scored an equaliser), and then why wouldn't you want Banks on the pitch for that?

It'd be like France going for a winner in a WC Semi and taking off Mbappe after he's scored, for Konate....against Greece

 

Get out Hughes and take Hodges with you
