We're not a big club. Even at this level. We just get a lot of fans because of cheap ticket pricing. There s nothing else about us that you'd associate with a big club.

And maybe he liked the job here first time around before Jilian & Mark went for Phil Parkinson.

While we may well be in a mess, Bradford City AFC do have a rather long history behind them. Forest Green however do, but 99 per cent of it in non league.

 

Maybe. We’re a club in a big city - not a big club though. And his immediate prospects are probably better there. Now, if that isn’t good for thought.....

 

Why would we approach a manager for whom we would have to pay compo when it is being reported we have already been 'inundated' with interest from free agents?

I disagree. He may have done all he can with forest green. He will know he can only take them so far with their fan base and ground. Again I’m not saying we are massive club but he may have felt he has earned his stripes managing lower down in particular in the conference previously.

He did a good job with Swindon and the past and is the right age to take on a “bigger” job.

I am not building us up. I know we only get the gates because of our cheap deal and our recent “success”. However he is experiences in that league and I would fancy our chances of coming back up if we got relegated

 

What would it take to keep forest green in league one?

However if we did get relegated he knows we can establish ourselves as a league one club with the gates we get and the current funding. It would only probably be for a season he would think given that we would be aiming for immediate promotion

 

It’s all academic as you say as we probably can’t afford any compo. But a manager could walk away from a club if they wanted the job? Or could they not? Not sure how that works

 

I think the more pressing question is what will it take to keep US in league 1?
