Development of youth. Let's be honest it's been poor for at least 20 years

    Obviously doesn't directly guarantee success

I agree, but once again it take resources to develop young players and a commitment right through the club structure to do it correctly. During the last 20 years we have had all on to put a decent 11 out. None of our owners have had the will or resources to change our culture of the hand to mouth existence. Edin now wishes to change that, I am not sure he can without separate investment that doesn’t deprive the 1st Team.

Not sure Mcardle and Reid were established at a higher level. Reid couldn't get a club when he joined us in League 2. Mcardle couldn't get into a poor Aberdeen team and had been released.

I can understand buying young players with 50-100 games under their belt. You're not starting from scratch. They have some experience.

I think Reeves & Robinson could do well in the long run. Wyke will leave shortly.

To say this is the most talented group we've had for a long time is just inaccurate.

Just hold your hand up & say a 'I was talking out of my arse'.

If these young players (McCartan, Gibson, Hanson, Bruencker etc) start anywhere near 20 games each, then we'll be in a relegation battle because they're not good enough at this moment in time. The team would be carrying them.

Has player development been poor over the last 20 years ? Des Hamilton, Dean Richards, Andy O'Brien, Simon Francis, Fabien Delph, Andrew Wisdom, Ollie McBurney, Nahki Wells have all left us to have a decent career and (with the exception of Francis who we were shafted over due to admin) netted us decent profits over the years. With add ons, there's probably the best part of £300k a year income there over the last 20 years.

I think you've answered your own question by quoting the players you have, Des and Dean are over 20 years ago (?), O'Brien is the top end of 20 years ago, Francis wasn't here long and can't really be classed as us developing him and he had to drop down and play 3rd/4th division for a few years anyway, Delph and Wisdom left before the age 15/16 (?) And wells was around 19 or 20 (?) when he signed for us, that only leaves McBurnie from that list and he had to go elsewhere to further his career to the next level.

The only others I can recall that have made any form of impact are Luke O'Brien and Joe Colbeck, probably more but I can't remember them.

Player development has been crap if we're honest.

Why should they change their plan anymore than Tesco’s. It’s their business, like it or not.

Oh and “bugger off back home” phrase . Where have we heard that before. Ukip, National Front, British National Party, English Defence League, Section 88.
Would you say that to an English owner if you disike his / her business model. No you wouldn’t.

Please stop this anti foreign crap.

I'm hopeful where Gibson is concerned, don't know enough about Hanson. There is a player in McCarten but he doesen't show it anywhere near enough, wonder if that is down to lack of character. Bruenker? If effort counted for everything then he would be a star but oh dear!

Calm yourself and read again! I was speaking an opinion, saying that if I was them ‘I’d bugger off home’ and I resent your inference to the aforementioned groups. Usual crap where people read what they want and come up with some decking shit to suit to suit their agenda. Don’t reply to this message - do one!

I ain’t your ‘mate’ - and you still don’t seem to get it. I’ve got better things to do with my time than to waste it with the likes of you. Goodbye.

Yep, the bookies haven't had a clue from day one.

Gamblers like to convince themselves the odds are relevant though.

When a bookie suddenly quotes odds of 1/4 on football manager odds, they are usually on the back on credible rumours, or a sudden influx of bets on 1 candidate

No, they are not always right of course, but the key with SkyBet at the moment is that they are offering odds of at least 11/2 for everybody else now
