I wonder how much Rupp has had to pay to get rid of Rahic? Or does "mutual consent" imply he went without a big payoff?

Any payoff must have an impact on any transfer budget?

That's interesting, I did check if there had been any changes to obviously that'a quite a recent change.

Doesn't bother me or make any difference as far as I'm concerned, and he was appointed as a Head Coach so obviously not an issue for him, but it does seem to be a big deal for some fans.

Hope the new guy doesn't feel he's been demoted from Assistant Head Coach to Assistant Coach already!

That's what I thought. And this is what Katie Whyatt actually wrote ...

"Telegraph Sport understands Rhodes has no intention to buy the club back but hopes that Rupp will inject £1million before January in an effort to keep the club in League One".

Note her use of 'understands' and 'hopes'. It doesn't seem quite as categorical as some might believe.

From Bronco's post and his reference to WOAP, I assumed that there had been another reference to this hoped for £1million which reinforced Katie's article but alas no. I really hope that Katie is downplaying the situation but it looks like we'll have to wait and see.

A million is an precise amount. If it was a hope you would surely say “I hope he invests money to stay in the division”. That’s why I think there may be a bit more too it than a wish

Can't see Hopkin or Rhodes being in the firing line this season
I had us relegated at the end of September it will be a miracle if wr avoid that
The time to judge is mid October next season in whatever league we are in
Edins legacy won't be removed overnight it will take time to return to where we were
Fans should have patience after what we have been through

The quote came from the Telegraph article. I would ignore it, and read what Stefan has said in his statement.

OK. I'll ignore Katie's article but where is the Rupp statement you've referred to? WOAP? T&A? Die Zeit? Is it somewhere on here? If so, I must have missed it.

Stefan has not stated any amount, and I wouldn’t think he would. He stated he had significantly invested in the club this year, born out by our largest budget in 15 years. He then goes onto say he will continue to do so. He wishes to ‘wash away’ this year, all signs he is not about to flush £5 million down the pan. I personally would feel more secure in his ownership, if he took a more active part in the running of the club, attend more matches, in other words ‘fall in love’ with our club.

Mutual consent usually means one side wanted to part ways and the other managed to negotiate for an amount they were happy with in order to leave.

I'd suggest we paid out more than we'd be contractually obliged to do because of the nature of the departure and the speed also. I was surprised it was over so quickly. It suggests to me that Mr Rupp is pretty decisive and doesn't let business decisions be led by his heart. Usually in these circumstances it's the ones that want to show they've won and can make a business decision that end up dragging it out and not agreeing to stuff because of their ego.

That, or they had a meeting to discuss, fell out big time, and the less secure position became untenable.

To be fair, if Rupp says 'what can you show me to suggest I will get a return on my investment with you running the club', what could Rahic really say? He overspent, achieved the worst results EVER on City's history, made us the worst team in the EFL throughout an entire year, and has failed to attract a single significant bid/profit for a player.

And no, I don't think Rupp would consider the modest profit for Wyke particularly significant, especially when it was quickly spent on weaker players.
