    Spotted signage on Saturday. This is likely to affect those of us who travel south down the M606 after a match. It will affect the motorway after the Doncaster game.


    Region | County: North East | Bradford District
    Road Affected: M606

    Description of incident: Location : The M606 southbound exit slip at junction J2 .
    Reason : Roadworks are planned.
    Status : Pending.
    Schedule : Expect disruption everyday between 20:00 and 06:00 from 4 March 2024 to 7 March 2024.
    Lanes Closed : All lanes will be closed.

    Type of incident: Road Works.

    Delay length: Severe Disruption – in excess of 3 hours delay or road closure.

    I live in Oakenshaw and noticed them as well, but Junction 2 is for the Euroway half way down the M606. Can't see many people (if any) coming off there at 10pm on a Tuesday night

    Yeah it gets quite busy too during the day. Its in one of the industrial units further up from B&Q, on the right just before Rockhill Lane

    It is actually the whole of the M606.

    • Description
      White lining/road markings - M606 northbound and southbound Jct 26 to Jct 3
      Carriageway closure for carriageway repairs
      Diversion in place via National highways and local authority network

    Yes, National Highways are now showing it as a complete closure from 8pm.

    It depends how quickly they close it off. Post home matches, I've managed to get through a few 8pm closures on the M62, because they often take a while to cone off the motorway. That said, I think I might head back via Manchester Road and Brighouse and join the M62 at junction 25 tomorrow night.

    My reading of it is that you should be able to get onto the M62 at Chain Bar, so will probably go to Odsal and then down Low Moor and Oakenshaw , unless anyone else thinks Chain Bar will be shut.

    Can't see chain bar being shut for m62 access. Try Brighouse and getting on at Ainley Top. That's the way I go when travelling west.

    Apparently it is ‘White lining/road markings’, so they will lay and remove the cones in the session, no digging up or removing barriers etc. l presume they will either have finished that session of the work, or as you suggest, not started.

    From the National Highways website. It's just junction 3 to 2 Southbound that's closed tonight. It is part of carriageway repairs on the whole of the M606 but they just closing a part of it tonight, the full closure on the southbound is from Thursday for anyone that uses that at that time of night.
