Top 50 out of 350 is not "bang average". Presumably, you want a new RB as well - but strangely you think Halliday, who has slightly worse overall stats than Ridehalgh, is OK.

Both are very good L2 fullbacks and it would be far more sensible to spend the money on other essential areas, CB (if we're playing three), CM and a striker.

 

Considering he had no-one decent in front of him during the time he was available, I thought he was decent enough. Needs a settled partner down the left to build a trusting relationship. One where he can overlap and not be left exposed if the attack breaks down.

That's quite understandable single lad etc, shame we couldn't get a fee for him as he showed promise a couple of seasons ago, but good luck to the lad.

 

I'm hoping Sutton plays right back. If DA can get him defensively sound his pace and energy would be a good asset going forward.

 

I think Eisa will play off the left with Cooke behind Cook but even then we still look weak. Fingers crossed we have some genuine quality lined up for the next 3 or 4 signings.

 

And like Parkinson, Adams is a tough love manager. Do what I ask and I'll support you to the hilt. Piss me about and I will fall upon you from a great height. A deeply religious man and a teetotaller, I can't see Adams making the McCall mistake of trying to be one of the lads.

I agree he was exposed towards the end of last season which wasn't his fault but irrespective of that we need to be aiming for better. He is a player who is a year older and slowing down when his pace was already non existent. He can cross a ball but only when he's afforded time and space to do so because he has no ability to beat a man.

If you took our first choice eleven last year the two weak points would be LB and CM and I don't think anyone would disagree.

 

I'll take and average 43 conceded in 46, every season from now. Which by the way, is one of our best defensive performances ever.

Note, how we were unbeaten against our Top 8 rivals, the minute he came back into the team.

Grossly underrated by far too many. Probably because we were very spoilt when we had Meredith.
