Not sure if the rules have changed on development of players. We received money for Jordan Pickford when he went to Everton.

I know a few Huddersfield fans, they've been raving about him all season. Said they would struggle to keep hold of him. His first game in first team football was for us and straight away he look levels above Akpan and Wright. A genuine box to box midfielder who has goals in him.

Unfortunately, it's not quite as simple as that. As a loanee club and because of his age, we are certainly entitled to so called 'training compensation' for the 12 months whilst O'Brien was with us. How much is a different matter. If this was an international transfer or loan, FIFA has a formula to calculate how much is due. From memory, it's about €40k in this situation under the FIFA formula. Are you familiar with the Mark Stuart saga when we joined us and we had to pay £230k to his former Scottish club as their training compensation for his 6 or 7 years at Falkirk? Unfortunately FIFA allow domestic bodies to set their own rules for training compensation within their jurisdication. And our own FA simply leaves it to the three clubs involved to work it out between themselves or go to a tribunal! We received some money for Burke and for Pickford and hopefully if the Blades buy O'Brien, we'll get a few tens of thousands for him as well. Most clubs settle up in the same ball park as the FIFA formula. But it will rely partly on the goodwill of the Blades and Town to agree the final amount. I hope they'll be kind to us! :)

I thought it was about 50k for Burke

Great. I've never seen the figure quoted at our end previously. That was a good outcome for us, slightly higher than the FIFA formula.

Just seen this on BBC coverage of play off final.
We could use a similar one for next season.

“Lewis O'Brien is taking the game by the scruff of the neck for Huddersfield with an all action display”

Rather strange viewpoint there. Forest have had 65% possession. No one in blue & white is 'taking the game by the scruff of the neck'.

Sky commentators expect him to be a Premier League player soon.

It was taken from the live coverage text, no idea how the game was, just checked the score and that was the last bit of text. Just made me pine for another Stuart or anyone of his like.
And now they stay down, I wonder if the reported interest from Leeds will materialize.

Like the lad would be good to see him get a move to a decent club, failing that Leeds will do.
