Good draw to test our credentials.

Assuming both teams put near strength teams out, which I assume may happen with league starting week after, it will be a good benchmark for the forthcoming season.

Good draw team expected to be up there this season, good to rest ourselves against them. As it’s the week before the season expect both to use full strength teams for match fitness.

 

Against Bolton it'll be a good test.
And will show how weak our team is.

Lets hope the team go there with genuine ambition and show a bit more of a positive attitude than some of the miserable gits on here! FFS, for some of you the team is simply a reflection of your own negativity to everything - lets at least keep some hope until the inevitable (in your eyes) losing run begins!!

Couldn't have been a worse draw. Can't wait for their deluded fans all over social media to resurrect the non existent rivalry between us. Oh and the inevitable Eoin Doyle goal or two. How fun.

Evidence, with the team as it stands it might be slightly misguided - I accept that. But after all that has gone on the world over the past 6 months I am honestly just looking forward to having my team playing again, yeah it might all go pear shaped and that will give us all something to debate until the cows come home - but it will be our team good, bad, indifferent.....and hopefully occasionally scintillating!

Don't think you understand Simon, it takes many years to develop our depths of despair...

 

Don’t know why people think it’s an awful draw, we’re in the bottom tier. We could have got a team from one or even two tiers higher, like last year when we got pumped to Prestons reserves 4-0. If we get a narrow loss then no shame in it as they’re expected to be up there, if we win then it’s a good start going into the season. Only way it’s bad is if we get pumped, I think Bolton’s team is to new to give someone a thrashing this early I expect them still to be gelling.

It wouldn’t have mattered who we drew in the cup. McCalls cup track record has to be one of the worst, but fingers crossed, he’ll come good this season.

 

Well, Bolton are certainly going for it but I've no idea where the money's coming from as the takeover was highly dependent on the adjoining hotel and the income it provides. Can't be much coming through at the moment. Perhaps they'll go spectacularly bust.
As far as we're concerned I see it that Rupp is honouring his promise to keep the club afloat, but only at a minimal level until he can find a buyer. Perhaps he feels he's provided good budgets in the last couple of seasons and it's got us nowhere so he has decided to do the bare minimum. Certainly looks like that looking at our transfer dealings so far. And if it is true then we'll just be treading water until he can sell, or gets fed up and pulls the plug. Either way there's no ambition or drive in the club and precious little to look forward to.
