Mine has just turned 16 and has properly discovered the opposite sex in the last 18 months. She had a season ticket for the last 3 years but I get the impression she would rather be anywhere else on the planet than at VP on a match day now.
What makes it even worse is that her current boyfriend is a Leeds season ticket holder.
I just pray her disinterest in football continues and she isn’t persuaded to venture with him to Leeds games.
If she did It would make my little lad quite happy when I write her out of my Will and he gets the lot.

The fact that my wife is also a season ticket holder makes it doubly difficult to understand how we’ve reached this point in our lives.
We thought of kicking her out but we’ve had her since she was a newborn baby and she’s almost part of the family now.
Will probably have to just accept we’ve failed as parents and hope the little lad doesn’t stab us in the back(and twist the knife)like she has.
Right I’m off to rock gently to and fro in a corner while sobbing quietly to myself.
There’s a picture of him standing in my kitchen with a Leeds shirt on somewhere on the “dark web”

Took my daughter to her 1st game aged 3 the classic 4-4v Derby she cried because of the noise. Later she had a season ticket with her 2 brothers and me for years until she had her own family, now waiting till the grandkids are old enough to introduce to the city family. They will be the 5th generation in my lifetime to be ticket holders

Great post! I feel the question can be broadened as I bet there's a few who have lost their city mojo during this long break. But i guess kids can be more fickle than more hardened long term fans.
There were several times last season when we'd switch off ifollow after another sh!t show and say well at least we're warm and at home! My wife even said she wasn't gonna bother with a season ticket this year at one point. I just did my best lip quiver and said ok I'll just have to go on my own. She came round!
I hope your daughter doesn't get converted to leeds. My previously massive city fan sister married a leeds fan, he still goes with my nephew. So I've got to be all grown up and pretending to be happy when they do well, otherwise mum tells me off (I'm 46...).
Personally I can't wait to get back to VP, I'm expecting I'll feel quite emotional after such am awful year. It's just in my dna! I think it's important we play well on Saturday as there will probably be a fair few floating fans debating whether to sack it off! -
Its little wonder that kids have become disengaged given the poor matchday experience and low quality of football/success. Hopefully the improvements made to the ground and a better season on the pitch can re-engage people.

Yeah and it's brilliant. Every matchday I'm now out getting lathered with the lads again.

There is a bit of a confidence thing going round at the moment too. Many are already back where they were 18 months ago, some are a little edgy but I say having been locked down for so long, many people realise how much they have missed the simple things in life so I think it will have the opposite effect.Hulmebantam, Wakefield Bantam, WilsdenBantam and 2 others like this. -

Don’t have kids myself, but know of a few people who lost interest the last 18 months. Think it’s with football in general as much as anything, IMO it was terrible behind closed doors but obviously had to happen that way.

Hopefully the atmosphere at VP starting on Saturday will show kids and adults what they have been missing

My lad has gone the complete opposite talks about football and city day and night at the minute. He has gone to his grans until Friday with the Mrs and siblings. Every outfit he took was football related with the majority city stuff. He will be well liked in Lytham this week. Tbh I probably wouldn't have bought a ST this season if it wasn't for him.shoatsy, Wakefield Bantam, Stoneski and 1 other person like this. -

Thought I'd share this with with you. Bought st for our then 4 year old grandson last year but of course he has been unable to physically attend. He is so excited for this week so we really hope we can do something we don't normally do and actually beat Oldham.
We joined him in the 1903 club but errors have been made(not City's fault) but Mick Shackleton's dealing with this has been superb(his staff-I know). I am anticipating our grandson's reaction when the parcel arrives addressed to him. Also he is a big Harry Potter fan.Wakefield Bantam, Stoneski, Bigrod and 1 other person like this. -

From the age of about 22 through to maybe 30 I wasn't fussed about watching City.
I'd been every home and most away games from 1987 through to 2001.
Don't get me wrong I attended away games within a 100 miles and the odd home game but I was getting my life sorted out.
The season when McCall returned 1st time got me back into supporting the team with a passion and now my lad has been supporting City since he was 3 we get to most away games and always have season tickets.
He loves it!!bantamlad92, Bronco and Wakefield Bantam like this.
