Clear WUM
It’s no coincidence he comes in and we keep a clean sheet.
It’s the hidden work off the ball people don’t see. His covering for others who got caught out and sitting in front of the back 4 offering them some much needed protection.
He is the type of player we won’t realise we miss until he is gone. Good start for him, not outstanding but he is never gonna be box to box at this age.

This signing identifies just how utterly ridiculous signing Josh Wright was and then making him captain!!! The fact he is now so far down the pecking order in an awful squad says it all really.

I thought he was a huge influence on the game.
It was all off the ball stuff that counted for me. Slowing the game down. Constantly talking and organising. Getting in front of the ref when we made a substitution so the ref was preoccupied with him rather than the city player slowly leaving the pitch to applause.
Him and Caddis have already made a huge improvement to our ability to manage a game.
Straight after our first goal he was wasting time to ensure we didn't immediately concede.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...CT Bantam, Stafford Bantam, WilsdenBantam and 9 others like this. -

Well done DH in getting Henry in. Very pleased with this one.
I know it looks a quality signing on paper, but I actually think he will do well on the pitch for us

true enough Dave but I can't see Henry running alongside somebody for 5 yards, let alone 50 without putting in a challenge.

KH was effective sweeping today offering protection to the back.
Simple does it. Happy enough with his contribution -

CITY SECURE HENRY SIGNING
Just now

Bradford City have completed the signing of former Premier League midfielder Karl Henry.
Henry, who spent last season with Bolton, has put pen to paper on a initial two-month deal with the club.
The agreement will keep the former Wolves, Stoke and QPR player at the Northern Commercials Stadium until at least the end of January.
Henry, who has made more than 550 career appearances, said: “I am delighted have signed for Bradford and am relishing the challenge.
“I went to Bolton last year in a similar situation and certainly helped them stay up, so, hopefully, I can come and help the boys with what already seems to be the start of a turnaround.
“It is obviously a huge club and one of the things the gaffer said to me was ‘come and play in front of 15,000’. They are expecting around 20,000 this weekend – and for League One that is huge support.
“I have heard a lot of good things about the away fans as well. It is important the supporters are behind us and we have got to do everything on the pitch to make sure they are.
“For me, being in at the bottom at this stage, it is early days. Bradford are not cut adrift – we are not miles apart, it is not a huge mountain to climb.
“We have got to get some wins on the board and tomorrow is massive for the club. When you are down there, everyone you are playing around you becomes that six-pointer.
“One thing that I have gained from these experiences is that it is not the end of the world to be down there in the early part of the season.
“I am very keen. Anybody who knows what I am about knows I am competitive. I am a winner and I want to play games.
“I want to come here, earn a place in the team and help the club get out the relegation zone. If I can earn an extended deal then that is my target.”
City head coach David Hopkin added: “It is a fantastic signing for us and Karl will bring a wealth of experience to the team.
“He is in great shape and is raring to go. I know he is relishing the chance to come and play here and I think he will do a great job for us.
“We have been working for a few weeks to get the deal over the line, so we are delighted to have it done.”
Henry’s arrival is subject to FA clearance and the ex-England youth international will wear squad number 48.bantamlad92, Old city man, Hulmebantam and 3 others like this. -
Took awhile to get in the game as to be expected but then settled down well playing in front of the back four and organising the defence talking all the time and denying them space on the edge of our box an area we have been very weak, Give him time to settle in and I think he will be an asset.

He will give us some extra steel in midfield.
Him and the 2 O Brien's with Caddis gives us experience and hopefully some tough tackling. -
Good signing on paper.

Just listened to his recent interview on I Follow. He joined City after an initial discussion with Phil Parkinson who recommended him to become a Bantam. He is very articulate and would make an ideal captain.
Once he is fully match fit he could drag the squad out of the mire. -

If it helps keep Wright out of the team, great. Remind yourselves that Edin saw fit to make that fella club captain...
