Personally I think we would be delighted if a waste of oxygen like Wright had been released after the window shut and couldnt get another club because of it. An absolute fraud of a player whose basically stolen a living for years.

Maybe not, he wanted to leave so I doubt he would have demanded money. I always got the impression he was home sick from the off. Hence the exit from VP as soon as possible.

I read that but laughed it off as another daft rumour. Wetherby Whaler has said Abbott has admitted it was him alone that sanctioned the signing. Way to go Greg.

 

A tad optimistic Yen on the 15 GB saying it might take 2 windows to fully rebuild the squad. Like you I have no affection for any of them, they all failed the basics ie ‘want to put in 100%’ for our club.

The personality thing is important. Each club has it's own identity. Parkys success stemmed largely from bringing in players who represented an identify that fans could relate to.

Wright = Essex playboy. That's about as far away from what we are as you can get. And he was made captain.

Walk being very apt

 

One of the worst players i've seen to pull on a city shirt. Didn't have one remotely decent asset to his game, apart from trying to look like he was doing something. That game against Barnsley when he shadowed their player over half the length of the pitch before letting him score without so much as a half hearted tackle will live long in the memory. Unfortunately.
