Good riddance, he's never looked like the player he claimed he was, too much " Mickey taking" at the start of the season!

If we get a fee for him then he will become a bargain as we got him on a free. Struggling to understand that,poor poor performances and can't get in the team and now clubs are chasing him.

 

He came wanting to get forward and score goals but never seemed to get going and reminds me of Matthew Bates in the way he backs off players. If we can just get someone to take over his contract and get him off the wage bill I'd say it would be good business never mind a fee. Had high expectations of him but he hasn't shown anything in a city shirt for me.

 

I agree were judging them without a good preseason under their belts.

 

I'll stick my neck on the line here and say I think there's a decent player in him but unfortunately he got lumped with the captaincy and instantly the pressure was on during a horrendous time at the club. His confidence has obviously been hit and now he's totally out of the picture. You only have to imagine what was going on during the Collins era and what he had to put up with being captain.

Good luck to him if he moves, I think it's best for both player and City going forward as he has no future here under Hopkin.

 

From Hopkin’s last few interviews the players that are in the squad and now doing well are those with the right attitude. Wright may well have been low on confidence and may be a better player than we’ve seen but his attitude is obviously crap so good riddance to him. As far as we’re concerned he’s been a waste of a wage

I think it's fair to say, he is not a Bradford City-style midfielder.

Jogging back to defend, purely positional focus, looking to take the game easy (or at least dispassionately) - Gary Jones he ain't, and none of the drive and desire of Cullen or even Lewis O'Brien.

But, his record proves he is a League One quality player, just not what we need, now or going forward.

He'll suit Oxford.

Very true. Certain players suit certain sides and certain situations. Shaqiri wasn’t much use when Stoke got relegated. Don’t worry I’m not comparing Wright to him in any way apart from situation

 

Got to disagree, he’s had the odd good patch here and there in his career and that’s it. I can’t imagine Gary Jones letting his head drop under the same circumstances, Josh can feck off to the far side of feck and then feck off some more and then keep fecking off. I’ll drive him to Oxford, let him choose the radio station and I’ll buy the Haribo.

 

We saw more in Scottish J'OB in 20 mins after being out of work for months than we saw in Essex Boy (am I allowed to say that or will Brisbane and Banbrotam pick me up on it) in 10 games....

Shame it didn’t work out. I think his heart was in the right place, but as others have suggested just not the type of player to dig us out of the hole we found ourselves in. I spoke to him before one of the games earlier this season (Charlton I think) and he was really positive about the club and seemed like a good lad. Good luck to him
