Josh Wright- New City Captain

This is bad news for Jake Reeves as Josh Wright will be starting nearly every game.

I don’t think Wright was promised the captaincy he has just emerged amongst the group as the natural leader.

 

I don’t have a problem with that at all. I am surprised that Killa wasn’t given the roll though.

 

Once McGowan is up speed I think Killa will spend most of his time on the bench

 

I think that will suit all parties. And a great sub to have, should he be needed.

OK. Take out both Wright and Akpan (Injured or whatever), and who are you going to call up - Devine ?

 

Never thought for one minute that Killa would get it, as I don't think he will be a regular starter this season

You may be right, Dennis. I imagine there'll be quite a few of us keeping a watchful eye on the remaining Transfer, and Loan windows.

 

If we play McGowan and OConnor as the Centre Half pairing then we have the same problem as last season because they are both right sided players. NKP played right sided last season and was caught out of position a lot and forced to use his right foot with the result of his passes going astray. Reeves will play a part this season as understudy to Akpan and this is his natural position not playing as an attacking midfielder that Stuart wanted him to play. I would definitely try play Seedorf up front with Wyke or a new target man if he goes as his pace would frighten the life out of most league 1 centre backs,and if not convert Robinson to a striker. Robinson's got pace and seems to be a decent finisher, so if we are unable to bring in a new striker before Saturday why not put both Robinson and Seedorf up front and keep the ball on the deck.

Quite a few different options in all that, M b. I think many have been suggested in various threads. Add both the Payne and Scannell acquisitions to all that - ON paper, we have what some may view as an enviable squad. Here's hoping they gel as well as they look. So great to have some class and skill in the squad, let's trust they impress further as a 'TEAM'.
