    Balance gets overlooked.

PP oversaw our biggest achievements while playing only one proper winger. Clarke isn't as big of a threat as Rowe, Novak, or even Cooke, but he's box to box and contributes to a lot of our attacking phases.

He would probably admit he needs more goals and assists, but we were noticeably weaker without him today. We created only 5 chances today, and had just two shots on target. Those stats are straight out of the worst games under Stuart. Not just because of missing Clarke obviously, but Stevens just ain't on Billy's level.

We also retain the ball far better when Clarke plays, something that has always been noticeable when he has been at the club. When he got injured in 16/17 our overall performances dipped, and today we could trap cement. It was calling out for someone with his experience to keep the ball for even just a few seconds and make a basic pass which we failed to do most of the match.

We resorted to long ball as our attackers were looking to break and use pace, playing a high line. Clarke drops back and offers for the ball, this linking midfield and attack.

Watt looked poor today, trying to create from deep to no real effect. He's better when we mix up play.

Didn't the commentator say the lad he was up against in that sprint wasn't known for his pace.

Stevens needs to get involved and do what wingers should do. Get the ball, take on a man and get the ball into dangerous areas. I think he'll be disappointed with his performance today and should he be given another chance, he's got to step up.

In your previous post you mentioned that Billy "doesn't threaten enough" then in response to my comment you suggest we're "noticeably weaker" and quote the lack of chances we created?

It's contradictory and nonsense. Yes Billy Clarke might have done more than Stevens so far and right now he's definitely the better option of the two but with a fit, first choice 11, I'm guessing that soon neither will be starting anyway.

I don't honestly see how you think that's nonsense and contradictory.

Apply that logic to a defender. We're worse without them, we create fewer chances, but they don't personally threaten.

Seems like you wanted to find fault for the sake of it. Enjoyed a few beers?

Except defenders aren't in the team to create or score the chances?
