His 35 minute stint showed a lot of promise. Nice first touch, desire, pace and looking to move the ball into constructive areas. Clearly not a left winger as seemed very right footed and had to cut in. Also overran the ball on occasion.
I noticed he replaced Gillead. Perhaps something symbolic in that?
Playing on the right wing, he could possibly offer quite a lot next season.

I believe he is 'two footed', but certainly would pose a threat on either side. :) As I alluded to a few weeks ago, and Wayne Jacobs mentioned last night ....... Gibson needs to show and press more in training, if he wants more team appearances.

Now this lad has got quality in his boots. A rough diamond that needs polishing though. Everytime I’ve seen the lad play he’s looked the part and played well. Fair play to Grayson for answering the question honestly on the radio last night. If he isn’t pulling up trees in training then it’s hard to justify starting him over someone else that does.

Get him tied down on a long term deal and work with him and his family on sorting that side of his game out. We talk about Gilliead having the talent however this lad could be even better if that talent is handled and focused on the right direction. Then who knows in a few years we could have an outstanding young player on our hands.

Agree. Didn't dodge the question at all and it was quite a straight to the point question!

As @Jimmylivesnextdoor@Jimmylivesnextdoor said - Grayson said he wasn't doing enough. It's on the link that was posted on the match thread last night.

I couldn't say. But perhaps his training doesn't shout 'PICK ME, PICK ME, BOSS' ?
Training sessions are the best place for any player to press his claims for team selection.

Did you catch the game last night? From what I saw, he was good on the ball and worked it with both feet, but on the left wing, he did not use his left foot to put crosses in,

I wasn’t at the match last night so didn’t see him play and just listened on the radio. If he is good at shooting from distance and can use both feet when dribbling, having him as a right footed player on the left might not be a bad thing.

It is a common thing for the best teams to have attacking right footed players on the left and attacking left footed players on the right as it allows a better shot at goal from that side. For example, at Liverpool, Mane is mainly right footed but plays on the left while Salah is mainly left footed but plays on the right.

Of course, we are talking about Bradford City as a League 1 team which means players of a lower standard, but I wouldn’t quickly rule out putting a right footed player on the left. A lot of people automatically assume putting a right footed player on the left is a mistake but it continues to be used with great success at the top level.

No, I didn't make it Rod. Hence Southend was my last game.
However, I do agree on your points, and before last night I had noticed he was more confident with his right. If he can continue to improve the use of his left (and other aspects to his game), City could have a great and versatile winger on their books. :)

Reed was a right footer and played mainly on the left

    No argument from me. :)

Years ago, although I was predominantly right footed, I was deployed on the left wing more often than not. (But I suspect that I was the only 'left footer' that could actually run, dribble and cross !! I didn't say I was good at it ! :D )

That’s very normal for amateur football. Most teams don’t have many left footed players from my experience!

Kyel Reid? I’m almost certain he was very left footed and always played on the left.

I was always a big fan of his too.

Sadly yes. This is where I despair with 'pro players'. I was brought up (and I have coached the same) to use your 'normal' side as best you can, but the ability to use the other is also crucial, the higher level you play, IMO.
