My take is if we get another striker and a defender that may be enough to compete. Playoffs should be achievable.

We haven’t been in the top 7 for months.
Unable to get back to back wins.

Why is it achievable?

 

FCD had just an ok game yesterday before been taken off so we could go 3 at the back but he will get better given the chance and miles better than Threlfall, he just needs games to grow in to the team, The other player we should have on the bench is Staunton who we should try give game time where possible who again is young, strong, quick and good in the air, He is another who just needs game time to improve

 

If we win the playoffs we automatically get promoted.

My comment was a response to you saying automatic promotion was the aim not the play offs, which is probably achievable with a couple more signings because apparently this is a SHITE league.

 

I agree with you.

When Cook plays, it's our best chance of winning games - but we still have a tendency to draw even with him in the side.

I just don't see how a new forward suddenly turns us into a winning side, to be honest. Another striker would be fantastic, as Cook seems to be struggling for fitness and if we were able to field a quality centre forward every game, we'd be very hard to beat.

But in order to turn us into a winning side, a goalscoring winger is the only solution for me. A threat from a position that previously hasn't presented any danger - that's the key, especially if we're persisting with the one up top formation for most games.

 

Of course it’s achievable it’s two wins. Ok based on the first half of the season it looks highly unlikely. But I think having a good go at it would lift morale and bring back optimism

 

Folk getting giddy this morning!! Realistically we need 38 points from 54 available, just to Skirt with the play offs. So around 70 would be pushing it. Last 4 seasons (fully completed) for 7th place was 73, 71, 75 and 70.

We would need to win double digit games, realistically 2/3rds of our remaining games, or about 75% of the points remaining.Title winning form, in essence.
Taking away blinkered vision but this squad is in no way capable of doing that. Not enough goals, not able to keep clean sheets and too much of a soft under belly.

Not a realistic chance Imo. 2 wins in 10 at home, 29% win ratio this season. League 2 again next season folks

 

Has anyone not seen out next six games? All soft fixtures on paper against teams below us.

Roll your sleeves up lads and put a run together……no excuses even now.

any team with promotion aspirations should be winning four or more of those games.
