This current sleep walking state has us in real peril and we're just as likely to go down as we are to leave the division in the opposite direction.

How much of that being on the brink was different parties trying to get the best deal?

They are a FA Charter Standard Youth club with over 25 youth teams from U9’s to U16’s playing across 4 local county leagues supporting 30+ qualified youth coaches

Taken from the local paper. The say the club can ONLY sustain payment of the the loan back to the council IF the council provide them with an interest FREE loan to build it. The have no funding lined up whatsoever. If the council won’t give them one they have to go to banks at commercial loan rates and as a result they CANNOT afford it.

The scheme is wholly reliant on an interest free loan from the taxpayer, pure and simple.

“The club are currently exploring ways to finance the potential deal but are unwilling to commit any further money to the project for now given that they are unsure if they will be given the green light for their preferred location. Peterborough City Council is currently in the middle of an independent masterplanning process and the club does not expect the results of that to come until at least February.”
