I'd rather employ someone like jones as a technical director than putting him on the board, he's an ex pro not a businessman. I don't get what qualities jones has that makes him suitable for a board room role though, if he wasn't a former player for us everyone would say its a daft idea.It seems the same mentality to me as when rupp panicked and brought stuart back, might appease the fans for a bit but is it actually the right move long term?

You could take your first paragraph and apply it to arguing for sparks to continue in his current role also

300K is the rumored amount on the Rochdale forum. The Morley sale to Bolton is between 300k-400k according to Nixon. Sounds like it's mainly going to clear debts, rather than back in the squad. The fans believe the club was about £1.2m in debt before the window started after Covid and some financial mismanagement over the last few years from the looks of the forum.

They sound just like us, selling there best players to fund debts. Or is that just the way for most lower league clubs, without the proverbial sugar daddy.

 

All very true but Sparks does not and has not shared with or provided the club with any form of culture and identity.

Gary Jones is a big character and a figure who could be a focal point for this club. If we had that in place, 'why Jones' would be an excellent question.

But we don't.

There is nobody at this club that the fans connect with in any way whatsoever. We should look to remedy that, which in itself provides you your answer.

 

He's one of the worst professional footballers I've seen in a long time.

A bizarre signing and whoever offered him 2 years should be removed from the football decision making side of the club with immediate effect.

Some good comments on there about Walker. Seems popular with the fans which cant be bad from a team currently third in the SPL. Hopefully we can get a tune out of him.

Absolute piss poor that he's keeping Staunton out of the side imo

 

Staunton should have been in the Squad from the start in my opinion. Having said that I though he did well at Barrow and was playing OK on Saturday until he was out paced by Patrick

 

I’d rather have Staunton and FCD playing as they at least have the potential to improve and both are more comfortable on the ball than Kelleher and Threlkeld

 

Maybe that’s why he’s flying down here as we speak, come down here mate pick up an easy wage and we just tread water every season go through a few gaffers and pick up a nice wage. Don’t worry you don’t have to actually live in the dump Leeds is 10 minutes on the train. They’ll be a bit of abuse from the stands but most accept the crap when we play at home just give them a clap.

 

We need better than the lot of them. FCD and Staunton need to be playing in a side playing with confidence. We don’t want to destroy what little confidence they have. Look at the howler FCD made and now he’s nowhere to be seen, that’s no good at all. As for Threlkeld, I just don’t think he wants to be here. He’s no passion or affinity with the fans at all.
