To be honest,if it was just £41,it would be £41 more than most of us thought we would spend this window.

No question we need to be snapping up talent but we have to show realistic intent to capture it.

    £41k?

Just think of how many Hand Dryers we'd get for that....

Rest easy lads, we’re fooked anyway, the mighty Barnet are in for him. No way will he turn down the chance to play with BRE for us.

This club needs to decide where it’s priorities lie.
Wasting money on players when 8 blokes have to wipe their hands on their jeans at half time in a league 2 football match.
    Joke of a club.

Isn't he the UKs biggest swimming pool supplier to rich knobs?

Does it ? If the others bid £40k then it makes total sense. Why should we pay more fir a player just because our owner could win a pissing competition with Harrogate owner ?

Don't go for a curry in Edinburgh. Jesus they are expensive. We went into one, ordered a drink and walked out when we found the starters were north of £10 each

How would we know what the others bid even if they have bid
Take your point but if we are serious about this window and want the player surely we should make every attempt to sign him 40k is nothing these days even Barnet would blow that out of the window

I can only think that £41k bid as above must be a clause. There's no way we have gone out of our way to pee Darlo off surely, or is there?

Didn't Arsenal make a bid for someone like Suarez and offer a £1 more and it got laughed off by Liverpool.

Apparently Charman is a player that likes to be around his local area. So I'd be more worried about Harrogate competing with us than the rest. Hope we get in there before others, Danilo Orsi springs to mind, whether we were in for him or not, one bit of speculation and Harrogate got straight in there.

Are City mad? If we make a 41k bid, AND we've signed someone on loan, that's all the Crankshaw money gone, surely?

    So soon???

What would it matter? No club is offering more than a release clause, ever.

I swear we've had this discussion on City forums before... What's hard to understand about a minimum fee release clause?

Why? Is he not out of contract in the summer and aged 24?
How much is the going rate for an unproven out of contract non league forward?

Didnt we get more for Guthrie and pay more for Robinson
Doesn't that show that if we rate him so highly we should put in an offer Darlo won't refuse
Or are we really not that bothered

If we do sign Charman he's banned for the next 4 games, so I wonder if the plan is to get him now and get him training with the squad for about 3 weeks before we play him?

    We paid £7,500 for Hanson.

Bitching about MAYBE offering £40,000 for a forward from non league is kinda stupid.

What should we do, offer £250,000 just to flash the cash?

    Bit babyish all this.

If people don't want the lad, that's one thing, but complaining about how much he might cost because we're paying too little is stupid. If Darlington reject the offer, so what?
