    If anybody is even suggesting Canavan is leaving due to footballing reasons then you’re strongly mistaken and heavily deluded.

    Mr Stubborn would absolutely not sell the man he made captain a matter of months ago. The fact is even the gaffer’s main man has stuck 2 fingers up at him, his dire football and continuously throwing his players under the bus because he’s not man enough to admit his own mistakes.

    Adam’s needs to get the f*ck out of our club

    Poor or not, we’re now left with POC, a CM and a non league clogger to fill the 2 CB positions. If he departed at the start of the window and we signed an adequate replacement then fair enough but the timing of this is really off. We’re now arguably weaker in a position that needed strengthening even before January.

    A bizarre piece of business to say the least

    This is exactly the reason. Calling out players every week and taking zero blame himself was always going to catch up with him. Canavan’s agent will have been on the phone since 6pm Saturday getting this move.

    It is a shock to see the club captain leave. And when he did initially arrive, Canavan was a calming influence on our extremely chaotic defence. That being said, he has been dire all season. Countless errors. When Paudie is the less error prone of the two center backs, you know there’s something wrong. As someone has earlier stated, its not a major loss. But if we aren’t able to get a replacement in or at least any other players with whats left of the window, The writing is gonna be on the wall for Adams. Tomorrow’s game could end up being extremely toxic

    And as for Songo’o, the only way we can accommodate him in a defensive partnership is if Adams reverts to a back 3. A potential chance for Staunton to come in on the left side, But if it ends up being Kelleher, Adams can well an truly feck off

    Has to be this. Canavan was no great shakes, but he was a first choice CB. He’s probably grown as tired as the rest of us at having to defend 1-0 leads all the time, then being thrown under the bus when it goes tits up.
