I've just been told by a usually reliable source that we are in the hunt for a keeper, could be a signing today but the keeper is infact not the keeper from Ipswich! Let's see what transpires

Would be an interesting one. Sutton hasn't always looked comfortable there but he does have the credentials for a decent RB. My thinking actually went to the other end of the field. Given that we have brought in Walker, Pereira and Daly who can take up attacking mid positions, I wonder if we'll see less of Angol out on the left where he has played a lot and more of him down the middle.

Purely speculating but considering the usual line that it's difficult to find a striker in the January transfer window. Given that we seem to need one every January, I can only think of Proctor, Wyke and Cook that have joined in January and had the desired impact. One of those came at a cost and two exceeded expectations. So I wonder if Adams' thinking has been to cover the attacking mid positions therefore freeing up Angol to play down the middle a lot more?

Gnanduillet Has gone to Le Mans.
Don’t think we were in for him but it’s someone who was available who’s gone

Hope he's got a quick car and some Red Bull to keep him awake, if he's at Le Mans

good question. Just checked his twitter feed (stalking) and he was training with Cardiff at the start of the year. Very skillful player. He also looked a bit chunky so be interesting to see what state he is in

Unpopular opinion but i don't even think we need a striker, would rather focus on a right back. Obviously wouldn't say no to a great signing but i think the striking options are good enough. With the new recruits i can see Angol and Cook competing for that lone striker role up top, and both are doing well all just depends if they can stay fit. Even Robinson has shown he can finish in the few games he's played think he's just been written off because fans were expecting a big signing in the summer and felt underwhelmed with him.

A lot gets said about how we create loads of chances and don't finish them but i think it's the other way round, we might get the ball around the box a lot but not many clear cut chances that the strikers are missing. Goals threat from attacking midfield has been more of a problem so far.

Either way I hope the new keeper is an improvement on our present two.

If both Angol & Cook are fit I cant see Adams not playing them together, as it has been a very productive partnership in the past.

Agreed. The keepers we have are both steady. That is all. Both are capable of decent saves, at the same time, they're both guilty of all too frequent mistakes. They're not good enough to take us up.

Very true but looking at Walker, Daly and Pereira i'm wondering how Angol would fit in like he has been doing, there's a lot of good options for those attacking midfield roles now. Surely he must be sticking with a 4231 after looking at these signings so far. I'd be happy for us to rotate cook and angol at the top

I've not been convinced by Angol through the middle at all, apart from when he came off the bench on his first game back from injury. He failed to make a single near post run in the last game, he could have had a hatful, and failing to make the run for the one Vernam put on a plate for him is criminal. Giving him the benefit of the doubt he might be holding back for fear of his hammy going again, in which case I'd rather we had enough decent cover for him to not play at all until it's healed (if it ever will be). If it's not because of his hamstring though it's either because he doesn't know what he's doing in that role or can't be bothered to do it, neither of which reflects well

My sentiments exactly. Angol has attributes but playing the main striker either as a lone striker or as a two upfront aren't them. Without Cook we really are toothless and the rest of the team know it, as their body language showed when he went off at Carlisle. We need competition for Cook, unfortunately that isn't Angol.

Thought I'd read that there was only two clubs in for him Park, us and Rotherham?
Wouldn't mind him going to Rotherham if we could get Ladapo from them though!
