My point really being that no Championship club are going to come in for him, unless someone like Rovrum who will soon be planning for league 1.

Preston, a team chasing play offs and promotion to the Premiership, no chance

It’s bizarre how people or vastly overrating his quality and capabilities when most wanted rid of him to any division south of L2 less than a few months ago. Clearly there is something there but CC football………Really?

How transfer speculation works, although I think most of us knew this already...

I don’t think most wanted rid of him. It was one man, with most questioning why he wasn’t in the squad.

Not currently - but there are teams out there that speculate and develop. Its called foresight and planning - an alien concept to Bradford City fans.

Buy them in for a few hundred thousand (nothing to a Championship club), loan them out to L1 to continue their development.

I don't think most wanted rid but no oneentioned his name in the run up to the playoffs last season. Not one person remarked we'd have done better with Jake Young.

Don't mind what happens as long as it's done and dusted by the Colchester United game.

And by 'done and dusted' by the Colchester United game, I don't just mean a player sale, I mean a player sale and a replacement.

Get to work, Sparks. There's money on the table, so use it wisely.

I have always stressed I think he has something. Hughes didnt like him, it was personal.

I think that’s because we accepted he’d been frozen out. Questions were raised after he scored a couple in a short space of time and then disappeared without a trace.

He never showed any indication he would go on a scoring run like he has. Been plenty of players in history who have hit a purple patch, it might be best we take advantage of that while his stock his high.

Correct but a lot of time had passed and acceptance. There was a few frustrated after the Jan window when we brought in old man Derbyshite and fellow shite like Nevers and Elvis Costello...........meanwhile we banished a kid who had scored the odd goal and showed a bit of promise.

Problem Sparks has is any monies incoming has to balance the books first. Not sure how much would be left to sign a replacement.

I think his 16 goals this term speaks for itself. Goal scoring strikers are like rocking horse shite on these shores. I can count on both hands the amount we have had in the last 20 years.

We need a striker, we have just been gifted the leagues stop scorer and we are about to sell. Its frustration more than anything.

Hey I hope he carries on his good form but a lot on here have short memories. Would be interesting to go back and see how many were actually singing the praises of Young and actually calling Hughes out back then. I suspect the number could be counted on one hand.

Agreed, and so be it, as long as they're honest about it.

Sparks realistically holds the cards. He has the player other clubs supposedly want, and have the money to buy.

So he sets a price and a deadline. Say, £500,000 by Thursday, or whatever.

There are 4 league games before the window shuts, taking us to 30 played.

Two-thirds of the season down the swanny.

We have not got a moment to lose.

If there isn't a serious buyer this week, it should be made clear to Jake that he won't be leaving.

He hasn’t scored those goals for us though. And who’s to say he will. I hardly think his eyes are lighting up with the prospect of Odour or Osadebe providing him the through balls. Sell him before his goals dry up. Sparks needs to be decisive and act fast.

This was always my fear of the "we will be bring 3 or 4" approach to January but a lot need to leave first..... by the time these people start leaving to create budget, our first choices in these positions might well be gone, our second choices could well be gone. Then we end up with squad filling dross like Bola, Costelllo, Nevers etc on loan to patch out.

If we need Young out to create enough cash to get difference makers in, we probably need a set deadline for that to happen. Otherwise, there might not be the player we'd like available anymore. I think the EFL loan window recall date is in a week, that should be our deadline to Young and his agent. You have a week, get your agent to get bids out there otherwise get your head right and earn a better move in the summer.

Sometimes works well, depends on the owners. Elliott Lee at Wrexham, the same journalist has printed the same stories for The Sun on him just before leaving Charlton and Oxford, same journo again had a story in November that Lee had been lined up by Birmingham for this window..... come Jan 1st, Lee signs a bumper new deal at Wrexham.

Fairly obvious his agent has a contact at The Sun, but the Yanks just threw money at him (and Mullin, he signed a new contract the same day).
