If not we are in a mess.

I honestly don't get the obsession with resigning ex players who were average at best.

No wonder we are in the bottom league.

It's the sort of signing McCall would have tried to make

Disagree we were a better side when he was as here we are now and n a league below. He is a standout player at Scunthorpe that’s why i don’t think they will let him join us
. He would be a good signing

We constantly live in the past Park.

Always trying to recreate what has gone before by resigning old players.

It's like being stuck in some sad time warp.

I agree in most cases but this if true is being looked at through new eyes with Turnbull not another old boys act in this case I think it would be a good signing but would be surprised if it happens

Darren Morgan, Darren Treacey, Steve Torpey, big Kai and Jason Gavin are all resigning as although they were bollocks, we were a better side and in a higher league when they played for us.

I know it won't happen, but James Norwood hardly gets a kick for Ipswich these days.
That would be the type of player Id love us to be after to partner Novak up top.

It's surreal that we signed Brunker in League One rather than League Two...

1 goal and 2 assists in 21 games?

For an attacking player the stats don't really back up the "stand out" theory.

It’s pointless keeping debating this I can’t not see Scunthorpe letting their best player join us

To think we signed Kai to take the pressure off Charlie Wyke.

    Serious question....Kai or Guthrie?

There should always be a “none of the above“option

    Unquestionably Kurtis Guthrie.

    It's not even close.

Kurtis Guthrie is definitely a non-league quality striker, but he's head and shoulders above Kai even if Kai closes the gap with his work rate.

Kai Brunker looked like a fella off the street.

I know Guthrie is one of the worst forwards we've seen, but outside of youngsters who were never going to cut the mustard, Brunker is the least talented player we've fielded in my years as a City fan.

I know this is a few leagues down. However local, 8 goals in 11 apps, 22 years old. I wonder if we've had a look? https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/18977691.bradfords-flying-knight-feels-even-goals-will-come/

According to their website, 'a fans favourite, with blistering pace'. Maybe something we might be able to work on, if he's good enough to make the step up.

Also it looks like his agent is our former player Andy Gray and he used to play for Leeds in his youth. His contract us up at the end of the season, so wouldn't cost the earth for him to come here as well.

Have you applied for the job. Obviously I agree with you about BRE and DMH but I have to admit I am impressed, whereas we all have opinions you seem to be quite knowledgeable as you are always right.

Gillead. Not for me. Didn’t rate him in his previous spells with us! A lot of huff and puff and little end product. I’d like to see new faces not the same old ones. The days of us signing old players should be behind us now, time to look forwards not backwards.

I don't know what Kai has been up to since leaving and nor how they work it out but transfermarkt.co.uk have Guthrie with a market value of £90k while Brunker is at £135k. Kai has even done a goal this season too...

    What goal did he do?

I remember seeing he scored an overhead kick in front of a German pub once. The nearest defender was within twenty yards, making it more impressive!

Haha il be honest I have my views on football management and to a large extent I think people overrate how hard it is sometimes. Every club had thousands of armchair fans, me included, who voice their opinions, usually displeasure after a game. Of course my comment about being right was tongue in cheek but i'll guess you knew that, its easy to manage from the sidelines and hindsight can be a wonderful thing. But i've watched football long enough to know that with a lot of managers you don't need hindsight to know it will all go tits up quickly. Sometimes situations dictate managers don't have the easiet of jobs (chairman, budgets, injuries) but when i see a manager constantly put out a team that hasn't a clue what its instructions are due to constant tinkering and is already beaten before it sets foot on the pitch then yeah, i do believe with my non existent football career i actually do a better job.
This idea that 'the managers know better cos you haven't played the game' type of comments are always amusing, take for instance what Trueman and Sellars have done in their five games in charge. A fantastic start to their management career but honestly, they haven't done anything different to what i've heard asked for countless times from City fans, that is to fit as much as you can round pegs in round holes and go with a formation that suits what you have at your disposal. The only difference i personally would have made to the line up when they started this run was to have played French at right back, only because i know little about Cousin Dawson which T and S do, and to their credit it has worked.

I'd tend to go with this, my comments earlier regarding Gilliead are based on what i know he could do and he is a better option than what we have. But it would be pleasing to see us go for new faces that are up and coming, for example the lad on loan at Harrogate Jack Diamond.
