Baffling window. What sort of squad did Mccall build that Ruup would back 2 rookies with 9 signings.

Still find it concerning that if Sutton or Watt get injured theres no dedicated cover beyond moving Cooke back.

To be fair, Cooke is a really easy move, there's practically a queue now to take over that attacking midfield role.

I wonder how many of the 9 players were on McCall's radar?, or whether other players were on his radar, or would it not have mattered as they were all Turnbull's signings no matter who the manager was?

Interesting times down at the Valley, just need to settle a permanent contract for the dynamic duo, and we can settle down and enjoy the rest of the season and look forward to next season

 

Maybe, but maybe a bit harsh.

The Burton fans seem genuinely disappointed to see Vernham go. They've a new manager, struggling at the bottom and the salary cap means you have to cut players than maybe you otherwise wouldn't. The fact that he's not in a new managers thoughts for a scrap in League 1, doesn't mean he won't be a good signing. As I say, their fans seem to generally rate him.

And Wigan are under an embargo of sorts, limited to the size of first team squad they can have. Again, they'll be forced into cutting players if they've wanted to bring others in.

Who knows, but I'm excited to see what these lads will bring.

Daft thing is, win 2 games in hand on Cambridge, then only 8 points off top, game in hand on forest green, 8 points off 2nd. Stranger things have happened. This season could be there to be got at

 

Well, we've got the young lad from Boro, who I can't see getting a game now. Ditto the winger from L666ds. Is that negative enough for you?

 

Also lets not forget thanks to Turnbull. What a difference it is having a person at the club who doesn't just rely on an ipad and YouTube. If ever there was a tangible sign that a recruitment manager is key, then this window is it.

 

The one I’d heard was Sorba Thomas on loan from Town. Seems like they moved on when others became available. I like the fact we’ve concentrated on permanent signings rather than loans today.

Not sure if Town blocked it or whether we just pulled back. Harrogate were also after him.

I think supporter opinion can be telling. There's a strong sense of disappointment/surprise/anger amongst the fans of both Burton and Wigan that we've snapped up these 2. Hopefully that's telling. The great thing is, they're permanent, so any time and effort we invest in developing them will see us derive the benefit.

 

one thing that i thought that cant be underestimated is that this current form must have made it easier to attract these new signings, which again is down the the new management team, well done
