We would certainly have compensated them though in the cases of those that moved for lower wages.

 

I think the key here is we haven't paid contracts up.. we've waited till players have found other clubs and signed deal probably on the same amount of money.. I don't imagine it's cost anything to get them moved on

yes it does. Either he stayed at Bradford and not play for 6 months, or move on elsewhere. he chose to move on, therefore he couldn't ask for extra money.

Normally players get paid off when no other club comes knocking.

yes they could sit on it, but the players wanted game time. economically that makes no sense whatsoever, lets pay this player off even though his next place of employment is lined up and actively wants to leave the club. if they didn't want to leave they would have been paid up in full or otherwise.

 

Quite right. Depends entirely on the circumstances - whether the player or the club is driving the decision, and whether the player has an offer elsewhere and to what value his new contract is worth.

This is a cut throat business and players at this level don't own fortunes. They're not going to leave cash on the table.

 

If i move to another club yet i'm still under contract at said club i'm not gonna lose money am i?

 

sitting around taking a wage is a worse career move in my opinion. if they don't move they probably wouldn't end up anywhere! So therefore are surely in no position to get a settlement

Absolutely. Earlier this season, our starting XI was poor and our bench was atrocious. We've now got 2 good options in pretty much every position.

 

It was best for all concerned, it was clear they weren't gonna get any game time and a fresh start we be a benefit. I wish them no ills and hope it works out for them.

Spot on. Staunton and FCD are real prospects. Scales seems highly rated too. If we can achieve success with some of our own at the heart of it, it'll be even sweeter. And importantly, if we can build a good base on younger players, we'll grow saleable assets that can help bring money into the club for further reinvestment

Surprised that French is only on a 6 month contract. Maybe it is for a few quid more than he was on here but it gives him the rest of the season to earn a new contract, that perhaps he thought might not come at VP.

 

Is Hosannah still on loan with us but not back yet and not training as is not fully fit?
