We can't risk rushing him back and have him missing for another 10 games. I'm confident that won't be the case, particularly when you consider how they've handled Angol who I never expected to last this long.

 

Well we all had high hopes for Angol after waiting so long for him to be fit.
I hope when Walker does return he doesn’t disappoint in the same way Angol has this season.

 

At the moment his problem is inconsistency. Tues evening saw a marked improvement of late. He’s certainly had a very slow start. If Banks is fit I’d like to see him wide right today for his crossing and goal potential if anything else.

 

I think angol has lasted this long because he has barely broken out of a jog yet. He holds the ball up ok, and generally has good close control , bringing in others but I can't think of one occasion where he has had anything closely resembling a sprint. He seems very reluctant to push himself which is a major issue in itself

 

No doubting Dion has the ability, what he does lack is work ethic.

 

he suits a team that puts the opposition on the back foot an allows him to go up against his man time an time again, so what we were doing last season. The reason it hasn’t worked so far is because we spend most of the game passing around the back an when Dion does decide to come back to collect the ball (as no one else wants it) he’s getting pressed from the get go an is also playing with his back to goal

 

To be honest I think we're missing Lee in the starting line up he holds the ball up well and brings others in to the game very well he hasn't really had a chance yet. If I were sparkie I'd be thinking about giving him a start and a run in the team

 

Or Stuart as manager !

 

He's not going to start ahead of Walker though and he can't play as the lone striker

 

Its a shame we no longer have regular competitive reserve football to aid injured players coming back and keeping others not currently starting games retain match fitness

In T&A played 45 min in short practice game earlier this week, not far off coming back to first team

 

Played Tuesday Afternoon against Blackpool, Match cut short due to the heavy rain and the need to protect the pitch for Saturday. City Win 3-0.
