Some people have no idea. The publicity it raised for the profile of Yorkshire was huge, Verity did well to get it all moving. My wife is a mad keen cyclist and I saw the positives it brought to communities and business. Problem is councils have little money to spend, even if they have they are too short sighted to see what benefits it did bring.

As previous post stop this preoccupation with old players, old staff and on and on.

It's the club that is seemingly preoccupied with bringing back ex players, staff and on and on; not the supporters. If the club didn't continuously revert to the tried, tested and failed hoping for better outcomes, the supporters would probably speculate less.

You might want to pass that on to the powers that be at the club first.

McCall; Clarke; Mottley-Henry, Evans and Gillead etc

Without wishing to derail the thread the numbers don’t mean a lot, we need to get more people out of cars and on to active transport, for the environment and their health. Diabetes and its complications costs the NHS £14bn a year, most of that is lifestyle related. Get people fitter and the NHS is better off. I cycle a lot, over 6000km so far this year a lot, and I fall in to the less than every day category. Cyclists spend a lot too, not too hard to go out in kit you could have spent a grand on if that’s what floats your boat, that’s before the bike, I know of many cafes aimed at cyclists and holidays in the dales are decent business.

Well maybe as Harrogate seem to be more ambitious than us he’ll probably go there.

Not decrying the event, but the residents of Addingham would take issue with 20 minutes. More like two days last time.

BBC updated their article, with some information on a potential complaint against his conduct.

"The BBC understands an internal complaint about Mr Mason's conduct had been received and was under investigation.

Welcome to Yorkshire confirmed a complaint had been received, but did not state its nature nor name the individuals involved.

It declined to comment until its investigations were completed.

Speaking to BBC Look North, Mr Mason said Welcome to Yorkshire had not identified him as the subject of the complaint, "because we don't specify or comment on allegations or complaints or rumour or conjecture".

It does also say at the foot of the article, he wouldn't start a new role until the new year.

Had to laugh today when the t&a said a former city star had signed for the stans. Never expected motley crew to be referred to in such terms

Just said on Radio Leeds he can't talk about his next role but people 'won't be surprised' perhaps he is going to be doing more work with dementia as I think he's launching a cafe and has talked about more

I've got a theory on this, could it be that Bradford have been given the "nod" that they have won the City of Culture bid and he is going to be heading it up ?
