My point is that it seems we can’t describe people by their skin colour without being called a racist? Where does it end? Eye colour? Shoe size? I think racism is abhorrent but I still think it’s going a bit far with political correctness. If you witnessed a black, white or Asian man commit murder then what are you telling the police?

Anyway it’s best we leave it there. I don’t want to derail the thread over something ridiculous. I just think suggesting someone is racist for saying what he did was out of order.

Aye. No need to open up a can of worms debating that issue.

I saw it as a compliment. Cant argue with genetics, in the main black players, boxers, fighters, runners are more powerful, stronger, more endurance than other races.

UFC, HW boxers, 100m sprint.....its no coincidence.

He's not describing someone to the police though or describing a current players skin colour. He's saying he wants a big black CB which is stereotyping people based on the colour of their skin. I get what he means he wants a hard as nails CB but I struggle to understand why the colour of the players skin should even factor into that.

Well then surely it’s a compliment.
It’s probably a good time to move on now. We don’t need to fill a thread with negativity when things seem to be so positive going into the new season.

He wanted another Darren Moore or Joe Cooke. Just been sentimental.

Oh, yes. Those were the days, eh? When 'they' knew their place and we had none of this 'taking the knee' nonsense. Perfectly harmless.

But if he'd have wanted another Andrew Davies or Rory McCardle, would he have said he wanted another hard as nails white CB like one of those two? I don't think he would, and that's the point.

Yeh probably not. Hed have been accused of being racist for saying he wanted a white centre back. Its inexclusive.

Wouldnt be having this convo if he had said he wanted another ginger haired Scot like McCall though.

Not sure why you are obsessed with taking the knee. You keep bringing it up. Nobody mentioned it apart from you (2-3 times now).

Its obviously something he believes strongly about, hence the image used with his name.
Its his right to take the knee , as it is others not to if they so wish.

How is it compliment? I said I don't know why skin colour should factor into it when I know exactly why it factors into it. It's because of the racist stereotype that big black men are frightening.

When you think about another reply to defend it think on this do you think that Gent, Hughes or any of the recruitment team sit around saying we need to sign a big black player and why they wouldn't do that.

Why are bringing frightening into it hahaha!! You are making things up to call someone a racist. Exactly the same tactics used by anyone trying to play the outrage card.
    Embarrassing.

Is it racist to say that 8 out of these 10 players are black? Of course it isn’t. The facts are some humans are just stronger, faster, quicker, taller, etc etc than others. We’re getting into genetics and it’s really boring and been done to death.

Actually pal your the embarrassment to yourself and the club!

He's not describing a particular players skin colour and where in the post does it make any reference to genetics? No where its you who's making things up
