Is promotion still on the cards this season?

The pattern this season has seen us string results together then given an opportunity to kick on we have stuttered.

winning the next two looks highly unlikely especially given Barrow are bottom of the form league and you know we love to rollover for teams in that position.

what is promising is that Mansfield had a good end to last season and had a similar season to us, their momentum carried through which Sharpe should recognise with good recruitment ….

 

Results yesterday mean there are still 2 places up for grabs. Beat Barrow (entirely possible) then we have a decent chance.

I dont think we get promoted, not good enough, but play offs is possible.

 

No hindsight here, Kev. Wanted him out after Carlisle, as did many others.

 

If the league table were based on results at HT, we'd be bottom of the league. We're also the worst in the league for going behind in the opening 15 minutes; it's happened 14 times. That's a third of our league games we're a goal down early on.

Surely that's got to be down to preparation and mindset?

 

You'd have thought as a very successful businessman maths would be one of his stronger points.

 

Correct we need all three points at Barrow on Tuesday night or our seasons over as it should have been after that disastrous 4 game run against FGR, Mansfield, Notts County and Harrogate, but we are Bradford City after all me love doing it the hard way.

Looks like Hudders are dropping into LG 1. When was the last time we were in the same league?

 

Checking that only last night. Not like I'm getting carried away or owt. Remarkably it was nearly 20 years ago. Season we got relegated from L1 in 06/07

 

Me neither. Was just having a look at the bottom of the Championship. Loosing 4-0 yesterday was a massive blow to them. Their two last fixtures are Birmingham at home yikes they are in dire straits as well. Then if they get through that they have Ipswich away who no doubt will be celebrating party time.

 

The sadness of what could have been if we didn't have 12 draws and 15 losses ;-)

 

Regardless of whether we miss out on the play-offs, we need to take the positivity from the end of this season into the next.

 

The key being…..go and have a go in the final games and if you fall short, at least you tried.

as Hughes learned, if you are a defensive minded bottle job and don’t have a go, the fans won’t forgive you and ill feeling spills into the following season

 

From a club heirachy perspective I’m referring to.

 

Lets just hope those that have decided to turn up recently arent kept on.

Football fans have short memoriee but there are some players who simply are not good enough.

 

Still a very slim chance, however if they defy the odds and somehow get promoted it will be the strangest promotion I will have ever witnessed.

We are used to seeing entertaining teams who have been in contention most of the season gain promotion and to see this team who have taken so much stick for most of the season get promotion will be so strange
