Mathematically it might still be possible but realistically, no chance. I noticed in the presser today when GA was talking about next year's budget he said something about not knowing yet what league we are going to be in next season. I haven't stopped laughing since.

Regardless of whether we miss out on the play-offs, we need to take the positivity from the end of this season into the next.

All eyes on the Barrow match, there's no point speculating about what might happen afterwards unless we win that.

Evening all, Newport fan in peace.
We've done the complete opposite to Doncaster over the past few games. Hard to believe that had we beat Colchester on Good Friday, we would have gone into the Crawley game on Easter Monday where (i believe) momentum would have got us into the playoffs.
Unfortunately, it all went to pot and we've lost every game since! Inexcusable to lose every game but the squad is so bare we are fielding and over exposing 2nd year scholars into the first team.
Still, for myself and more or less every other County fan, this was THE season we went down as we didn't(still don't) have a pot to do the proverbial in, so anything other than the trap door was deemed a success. Just an absolute kicker of what sort of miracle we could have pulled off.
Nonetheless, my first trip to Valley Parade so any advice of pubs etc would be gratefully received. Is it true the Bradford Arms allow away fans? Myself and 6 other family members are coming up as my uncle is 65 on Saturday, so as a present.....please keep the score below 10!RCarol, baldbantam, Onside and 3 others like this. -

You'll be fine in any pub from the town centre all the way up to the ground if you're sensible and you'll probably find the vast majority of City fans will quite happily chat football with away fans.
North parade, as mentioned above is probably the closest, best area for a beer so I'd recommend any of the bars on there then a 10 minute stroll to the ground.Hulmebantam, Jayteebee, Idlebantam and 3 others like this. -

It's not happening. Too many variables that need to go in our favour.
The players deserve a lot of credit for their attitude and spirit in overturning a 2-0 deficit away from home yesterday. Fair play. And their attitudes of late also deserve credit. The flip side, is the same attitude was sorely lacking 'when it mattered' through much of the season. That 3 game home spell last month is what will ultimately cost us.
The defence is still a problem - I can't for the life of me fathom why GA rates Ogeyoke.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...RCarol, Onside, Botswana Bantam and 2 others like this. -
Crawley have only got 2 draws in their last 4 games, and they need to get a win to beat us if we win. Grimsby have won 2 out of their last 3. It's not impossible for that to go in our favour.
Barrow have got one draw and 5 losses out of their last 6 games. They are against Mansfield who have won 4 on the bounce.
We have Newport who have lost 6 on the trot.
Probably not happening, but certainly not impossible.Citymatt, vladimir, borderlescott and 2 others like this. -

It’s a long shot even if we win our last two games. I am with GA in this let’s see if we
can beat Barrow first then we can look at the jigsaw of the last day. Great end to the season.RCarol, Bronco, bantamdave41 and 1 other person like this. -
If the league table were based on results at HT, we'd be bottom of the league. We're also the worst in the league for going behind in the opening 15 minutes; it's happened 14 times. That's a third of our league games we're a goal down early on.
Surely that's got to be down to preparation and mindset?Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Inspector, borderlescott, bantamdave41 and 1 other person like this. -
