I think he's been forced to bring in Shite cheaper players because of the budget. And the rumour of a mad hat owner will be putting people off.

Of course he is. He is responsible for recruiting mainly shite in the last 2 years.

It's not all down to him of course, but we needed a clean sweep when they sacked Collins, and it doesn't make sense that Abbo and Drury are still here.

 

In answer to the question.
Of course he bloody is.
Since Rahic came in he has been the right hand man to the De Facto Director of Football.
1/3rd of the much maligned Transfer Commitee and now part of the coaching structure (Although with Hopkin in charge, I reckon he just put's the cones out now).
If that doesn't make him culpable, I don't know what wouldn't.
Quite sure he's a thoroughly nice decent chap and all that, but as for picking footballers for our club.
He leaves a lot to be desired

 

I used to stick up for him as Rahic sets the budgets and had the final say on players. But I have to agree How, there's no way he can get away with 3 shocking windows on the bounce.

 

That's what I don't get when people talk about the parameters he's working under.

We've signed pretty much every type of player since he's been here. The only common denomination between then all seems to be that they're almost all worse than the player they replaced and are generally mentally weak. I can't believe they were the criteria Rahic was looking for.

 

Rahic doesn't know what type of player he wants. His 'criteria' probably changes on a daily basis.

 

Josh Wright and Jim O'Brien. Both freebies. Both not young. One is twice the player the other is but which one did Abbott target?

 

Ah. So we've now gone from Abbott can only sign players under the parameters he's set to now having no firm parameters at all.

 

I didn't say he had no parameters. I just said those parameters are constantly changing because edin doesn't know what he's doing nor what he wants.

 

J OB was available all that time in the summer yet it took Hopkin to identify him, no way was that an Abbott signing.

 

GA deemed Nahki Wells not good enough and released him from Carlisle....enough said.

 

I don't think that the issue is a lack of quality, it's a total and utter lack of strength in depth.

Look at our squad at the end of the transfer window and we had 11 experienced outfield players with 50+ games under their belt. To that total you can possibly add Miller & Jones in to the equation seeing as they're approaching 50 games and we've subsequently added J O'Brien and Ball which brings the total up to 15 experienced players.

Of those 15 players, 9 have been out injured/suspended for some or all of the season and there's no cover. Operating with such a small core of a squad might just be possible if you've got a load of versatile players but with the exception of O'Connor and maybe Payne we don't have anyone else who would appear to be comfortable outside of their usual position which means that we're stuck with inexperienced or out of form players to cover the gaps from injuries/suspensions.
