    Good morning everyone!

Okay so I saw the update on the City website about people in the UK & Ireland now being able to watch midweek fixtures live on iFollow.

Now before this I was watching some games on iFollow with a VPN and then purchasing a $7 pass, usually I would use Tunnelbear or ExpressVPN. (For those who don’t know what a VPN is, it allows you to change your computers geographical location, they were quite popular for accessing US Netflix)

The only problem is I usually got terrible quality, this could be down to the VPN, but I never had trouble with video quality when using HULU or Netflix, only ever with iFollow.

My download speed for my internet averages 97MBPS most of the time, so video quality shouldn’t really ever be much of an issue.

So I’m just wondering if anyone else had the same problem in the past with iFollow video quality ? Perhaps you were abroad already and the video quality was still a bit naff without a VPN?

I’d be interested to know, because I’m paranoid if I buy the £10 pass for tonight’s Burton game then the quality of the broadcast will be crappy still.

Overall though if the quality is good or better, then £10 for midweek fixtures will suit myself because it’s next to impossible for me to get to midweek fixtures with my now living in Northern Ireland.

    COME ON CITY!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

Morning. I watched the Shrewsbury game abroad. I was only watching on a laptop but the quality was fine in my opinion. Whether it would stand up on a 50" HD screen is another matter.

Okay that’s good to know, maybe it was the VPN after all. Thanks for the information :)

I use Express VPN too with a speed of 200MBPS (I get about 50MBPS when using a German server). Last season the video quality could be a bit hit and miss but it's much improved this season and I watch in HD. Obviously you won't need a VPN for midweek games so your MBPS shouldn't drop.

I usually use a vpn to log into ifollow and then turn it off before I press play on the live video. Quality is perfect then

The quality of football is crappy, never mind the broadcast!

Midweek games cost £10 - is there any cost for Saturday games with a VPN?

I subscribe to the season pass, 130 euro. I think you can buy match passes on a game by game basis.

That's brilliant, thanks for letting me know Nick. I'll be happily streaming away on my TV with my laptop plugged in via HDMI. :D

$7 usually when I use a VPN and change my location to Canada. Then I think your bank would charge you a foreign transaction fee too.

I'm in Estonia so don't use a VPN. I use a 150mb ISDN line at home. I connect via wifi and then cast to my tv. Quality can be hit and miss. There's different settings. I choose the HD option, and when the picture is great its great. Lagging can also be a problem - strangely during the second half normally. HDMI is better than casting - i've definitely noticed that the casting reducing quality (and also 2 sec delay).
But on the whole, I think there was only a few games last season that were unwatchable. I use a match pass each game, because sometimes I'm not around on weekends. It's 6€ a match over here.

Have a go and see what you think. A good way to watch for "free", is to place a 10€ bet on the opposite team winning. That way, when they do - you'll not only have got your ifollow money back, but a bit extra too :D

I have to say, so far this season I haven't had a single issue with lagging and picture quality, the whole set up has vastly improved.

So after you've purchased the match pass, the stream will just become available in the browser? Is that right or do you need to be using the app? I had the app last season but only ever to listen to games
