Here’s a thought The football management industry is really weird isn’t it. You can fail miserably and get sacked for not doing your job correctly and then get paid the full amount for the rest of your contract. Wonder if any managers think of that

Happens in any contract based scenario but if those managers want to get another contract elsewhere then it wouldnt be wise to follow that path.

Oh I don’t know I think they all like their turn on the feck it up Merry Go Round, get off at the next round for your new contract, in between contracts you jet off with wife/girlfriend/boyfriend etc to Antigua or somewhere nice and sunny. Great job prospects.

Not sure that’s right to be honest. Can
name dozens of managers who have failed miserably and then gone on to other high profile jobs

I have a rolling contract , if my employer wants shut of me I think I would get three month pay max.

they are too protected these footballers and managers especially.

Fully understand but conversely, if the Manager or Player only has a rolling contract you have no chance of getting a transfer fee. This also means if you have a good manager who is wanted by another club your not going to be able to keep them.

Footballers are also in a comparable, privileged position. The only thing is that despite poor performance, none of them are sacked, unless it is another issue.
We have one player who as l understand it we have paid a salary to for 18 months, but they have not played a single game. It is not the clubs fault, rather something about his behaviour (fairly or unfairly) which has put him in this position.
So the problem is endemic throughout the football industry!
I guess the difference between Football and most traditional employment is that you are on a time limited contract.
I wonder if Football managers have a specific Dismissal notice period included in their Contract.? If it is the full term of their contract, then it is those giving out the contracts who are foolish. If the EFL agreed a specific period, say three months salary, and all the clubs agreed, then it could change things.
