just explaining how complicated it would be trying to restrict access to certain groups. If it is relaxed the only option I can see is an open to all option

Personally, speaking that’s not good for any club. So it’s as you were …and clubs lose out to “other means”

I would be more than happy buying a season ticket to watch the games.

Just make iFollow open to anyone who pays for it, The team you buy it from gets the money

And see attendances tumble and more clubs going to the wall.

    Great plan.

last seasom,Glasgow speedway streamed their home matches, but they were only viewable outside a twenty five mile radius of Glasow,so you must be able to do it.

So the home team loses income? How’s that fair?
If they were to make iFollow open for all then the cost should be the same as a match ticket and the proceeds should go to the home club up to a maximum combined total matching the available away allocation. Anything over that goes to the away club.
Example. Sutton allocated us 450 tickets which were all sold so they have no right to claim profits if 1000 city fans buy an iFollow pass.
Flip side if a club gave us 3000 tickets and we only take 500 yet fans buy 2500 iFollow passes we should get nothing.

Any deal with iFollow has to safeguard the potential earnings of the home club just in case thousands of away fans decide to watch from their couch

they can try but your IP doesn’t alway log your exact location

just checked mine on broadband and mobile

Broadband was roughly right, well about 5 miles away.
Mobile wasn’t as accurate, just short of 200 miles out

    Really?

If a family of 2 adults and 2 teenage kids go to City, for example, the tickets alone would cost around £75. If that same family watches it at home it costs a tenner.

    You do the maths.

I think it should be available in pubs, at a higher price of course. Then your local supporters club can show it live which would benefit another struggling industry

That again was the same argument that it would deplete attendances, Nothing is like the real feeling you get at live games and that will continue or even increase as it did with TV as more people watched on TV more wanted to experience the real thing and attendances and finances went up

Fewer and fewer will be travelling with the increased cost of fuel, Make iFollow at an increased but fair price and increase the quality offered and clubs will get more money, It will not affect the income of clubs and will probably increase it if done properly

The whole point is that clubs shouldn’t lose money because fans choose to watch at home.
If you’re argument is that travel costs are high then I agree with you but the cost of the iFollow ticket should go to the home club

Make it available to ST holders only, as per the earlier suggestion. If they then choose to buy a home game on top who cares if theyve already bought their ticket. Most wont pay twice so that counteracts the potential for home crowds to drop (we’d count ST holders in numbers whether they turned up or not anyway tbf)

restricting IP addresses on geo location is all a bit too messy and complicated. No policy will please everyone but either offer an ifollow away package as a ‘bolt on’ to ST holders for the entire season or let them pay on a game by game basis.

that’s your reward for being an ST holder, committing your funds to the club and letting them budget more effectively…..having the option to watch aways online

But the away club shouldn’t get the proceeds.
Why should the away team be able to sell 5000 iFollow tickets and the home team gets nothing.
As per my earlier suggestion if there’s 3000 available seats in the ground for away fans then the home team have every right to claim ALL the proceeds from 3000 iFollow sales but nothing after that.

I havent really thought that far, but yeah i would agree.

it makes it easier if the away club sells the ifollow passes to their own fans via their own ticketing website and then the away club or ifollow inform the home club how much they are owed from the sales income generated beyond the seating capacity.

we could allocate more away tickets than most teams have season ticket holders so we would keep all the cash from games at VP whilst probably profiting from away matches as teams do t have much spare capacity to be able to allocate as away sections
