I’ll miss the away games once they put the bans on the 3pm Saturday games. There will be a lot of fans after dodgy firesticks to keep watching!

it does ask the question of whether they could continue selling the away games legitimately even once crowds return.

could you sell a unique code to away fans via the online system that they redeem only on that device for one match? Or is it too much hassle?

I’d rather pay via the legit route so the club benefits with their % cut, but if the powers that be take away fans watching 3 pms again....... fire sticks ahoy

I guess that the current legitimate route, which is to go through the Club Website, and buy the pass could be tweaked. It could be only offered for ‘away’ Supporters, who have activated an option on their clubs site. The home team could decline the option, meaning that it wasn’t available to home supporters (unless they could access it through an illegal source, which has been around previously).

Needs to happen for away games.

The negative connotations are a little passé. As many eyes watching as many games as possible is what's best for football, no question about it.

It's also not going to put people off a trip if they're inclined to plan such things in anyway.

I'd also make home games available at a standard rate. Something like a season ticket for home attendance = £150, a season ticket for TV only = £150, a season ticket entitling holder to both = £200. Game by game, £10 to watch from home. Reckon the £50 premium season ticket would allay fears that fans would stop turning up.

Yer, ifollow did a survey on it a month or two ago. I posted a link/info on the ifollow thread. The survey definitely seemed to be asking about interest to keep watching next season and balancing going in person vs watching on Ifollow. Suggested to me they were looking into options.

They are going to have to study this for a viable alternative for fans now used to watching games they previously couldn't get to. I don't think ifollow will affect away fan number much if at all, most fans who go away will continue to do so. But there are a lot of fans out there who for various reasons do not have the choice to be able to go. Personally i'll be glad to see the back of it as it means live football is back but the choice should be there in some capacity.

See you got a dusting of snow as well. This is a Brass Monkey :x3: sort of day, glad to pay a £10 to watch it from the warmth of my home, although I do miss the match day buzz.

This is a reason why I would be against season tickets including ifollow passes when we get back to being able to attend at full capacity in the grounds.

A lot of fans would get used to sitting at home and watching it from the comfort of their homes at the first sign of a bit of rain or cold weather, greatly reducing the atmosphere on matchdays.

Then again there are those who don’t have Season Tickets! Good job the 9,039 of us did, or there wouldn’t be a club.;)

Completely agree but I'd also add that the same would happen with away games.

A lot of people make a huge effort because it's just not the same listening on the radio and there just wouldn't be the same incentive if you can just drop on the couch and turn the TV on.

Well said Idle. As a current season ticket holder, whilst I really appreciate the product being offered this season by ifollow, moving forward I am against the idea of ifollow passes, however it may look like, when grounds reopen.

It will IMO drive laziness, excuse, apathy which will drive down attendances over time.

Once out the bag, the iFollow product will grow at the expense of attendance

I disagree... I only get to 2 / 3 / 4 away games a season, depending on the fixtures. I'd still go to every away game I was going to anyway because that's a full day out but I'd then watch pretty much every single away game I couldn't get to on iFollow - that's £180 extra revenue for someone there across a season

That’s why I don’t think it will happen a lot of our fans who travel away will decide to watch on I follow depriving the smaller clubs of income

But you can use illegal streams anyway, whether it's available to buy or not... you're just removing the option to actually pay for it.

You may have a drop off in some fans not going but that would need to be offset against how much extra revenue you'll generate by making it available to pay for... and people are already used to being able to watch it now. Maybe it should be the revenue for away following goes to the home team? I don't know the actual figures but I'm sure the numbers are being crunched somewhere

Yeah I guess you can get illegal streams.... I guess if the iFollow product grows and the demand grows, then the knock on effect could be more demand for illegal sources thus depriving football, thereof?
