Good performance tonight, much more intensity in our play both on and off the ball. Really encouraging defensive performance after Saturday's antics too.

Much better side when we play with width and was definitely a much more balanced looking team. Banks was promising and Chapman looks more influential centrally.

Need to back it up on Saturday now.

Sutton in midfield for Gillead would be best choice. Excellent work rate tackling and breaking up attacks and winning possession and makes up for Smallwood been a bit slower

 

Thought Smallwood was excellent.

 

No Gillead is perfect for that position

 

Just got in, not caught up yet, but what a performance, not withstanding the score, reminded me of the win against Villa back in the day, so much organization, desire and commitment, really proud, well done all...

Kev, Gilliead couldn't tackle a hot dinner. He's been forced backwards because he's ineffective further forward but for me he's still only really an average utility player and definitely shouldn't be anywhere near a promotion chasing first XI.

The problem with Gilliead is he's predominantly a forward thinking player. Then we had Young, Chapman, Banks, Cook ahead of him - also forward players. None of them are good at sensing danger and that's where their goal came from. If you watch it back, in that move every player, including the guy who shot, had too much time and space and no City player near them. Smallwood was dashing all over trying to close each of them down. The team isn't balanced with five attacking players although it worked last night.
