Hull - league cup

I can't see there being anymore than the usual 4,000ish. Hull have only just sold out their first block so not a lot of interest from their end. Still plenty available with all blocks on good availability so I don't think there will be a sudden surge of tickets bought.

 

When I bought my tickets I was really surprised at how many seats were available - then again it was a couple of weeks ago, but it seems like there will be a small crowd. It would be nice to think there will be 8-10k but it looks like 4-5k more likely sadly.

 

Yes I left it quite a while before buying and was amazed to find I could buy tickets in C block of the main stand and not at the front either.

I could be misreading this but I don't understand how people who had already booked upper tier tickets now have unreserved seats in the lower tier yet people who've already bought a ticket in the lower tier or will book one will have a reserved seat. I can't see this being a problem for most people but inevitably there will be 1 or 2 who insist on having the seat on their ticket but arrive late and find someone who has an unreserved ticket in their seat.

They were originally selling them for upper tier but have now decided not to open the upper tiers, presumably sales are much lower than they anticipated.

I reckon about 5000 will be in attendance

So why did the ticketing website ask you to select your seat?
I selected my usual seat in C block, believing that it was now reserved to me for this game. Now it looks like I'll have to get there early in order to be sure of getting a decent seat.
This is miss-selling.

 

Not sure mate. They asked me for my membership number at the ticket office, so I presumed they were going to offer me my normal seats. However, he just said unreserved seating

 

They will have asked for your membership number so they can allocate the loyalty points to your ticket.
This just sets it up for some people to complain when they turn up and expect to be in their normal seat that they've bought. The club probably need to make this clear for everyone just to limit the amount of arguments on the day.

 

Never seen this happen at City before, but there was a similar situation in the away end at Rochdale a few years ago. People had tickets with seating allocated but all the pay on the day were told sit where you want it’s unallocated, caused quite a bit of friction

 

That happens on many away games. Nothing new.

 

Presume they thought they were going to sell a lot more than they have.
I did state at the time, tickets would need to be £10 for a decent crowd.

 

The difference is that for away games you don't usually purchase a specific seat, you just get sent a ticket and take pot luck. Everyone knows that it's a free for all.
In this instance the website has invited you to specify and then purchase a specific seat for the game, implying that this seat would be reserved for you.

 

Of course, I was referring to away games .

 

We've actually booked and paid for the same seats that we have for our season tickets in the Sunwin.
How can it be unreserved seating when you can select your seat?
