How many season tickets will we sell?

Any news on numbers? The map looks very little changed for a few days at around half available seats taken. Anybody here still planning to renew or buy in a last minute dash?

Where are we with this news to booster numbers @Bradford End?

Noticed lately all these little snippets such as WOAP and city vent talking of ownerships change (now retracted)and someone on here am sure had it on good authority about budget increases.

Cynic in me says these a Chinese whispers to sway fans!!

Yes, it's just that city fans have to wait longer than most.

 

I think @Bradford End is referring to contracts which won’t be appease me personalty as BP and BH should have been signed up weeks even months ago.

This stupid policy of only offering contracts at the end of the season for genuine saleable assets is mind boggling!!

 

Do people genuinely believe that Pointon signing a new contract is going to create a load of fresh season ticket sales?

 

Can you explain what the rush and what the benefit is?

 

If by people you mean Ryan Sparks, then probably.

 

We've got a 1 year extension for him in our favour, everyone knows we'll trigger it next month so he's effectively got another year to go on his contract.

For me we just trigger the extra year then negotiate a new contract on top of that for an extra year with another year option that way he's rewarded for the season he's had but at the same time keeping him hungry to lessen the risk of him falling into the trap a lot of young players do. Same with Halliday I'd trigger the 1 year and then offer him another year on top of that.

With the year extensions there's been no immediate rush on either as we have the power.

 

After tonight’s results we still have that chance of play offs, win our next two and we go above Walsall, Gills, Wimbledon and Harrogate and just hope Crawley slip up at fighting for their lives Sutton away and Donny slip up at home to barrow and we could still be in the picture going into the last game albeit an outside chance

No but some people are stupid enough to think pointon is the answer.

 

We could be looking at the lowest points total needed for 10+ years for the play offs in league 2. Another huge game on Saturday is Doncaster vs Barrow, if Doncaster can win that then they'll probably be favourites to claim the last spot.

I think what this shows is that we aren't a million miles off it this season, but there is something fundamentally wrong in the squad as it was multiple poor results that have cost us top 7. If we can get a top 10 finish then in the context of where we were a month ago it's positive. The biggest issue this season is we've had too many very poor runs without a win losing 4 in a row twice, this season we've had a block of 5, 8 and 4 without a win.

The benefit is that we're probably not competing with other clubs if we quietly renew 3 months earlier.

I think GA is correct to take his time, having managed us for less than 30 matches (or so). I don't believe we've lost anything in hesitating - few other clubs if any have tied their players early.

Cook wasn't sorted until after the end of last season, when all the cynics thought he was a cert for going to Wrexham. It took Gilly to something like mid-June to resign.

Whilst I want all of them to stay (i.e. Halliday, Walker, Pointon) they ain't world beaters otherwise we wouldn't be so far behind the top 3.

 

Are we competing we anyone if we have an option on them? If we decide to take the option then it doesn't matter who else is interested as we have the option.
