Edin wanted a little fluffy football club toy to play with just how he wanted... maybe he's realised they don't make them like that and is finally accepting the reality. Good news.

There is hoof ball but some decent passing as well.I was impressed with the Livingstone players attitude. He had instilled self belief and they fully deserved their promotion.

This is going to be a class appointment. Just hope he's given the time, resources and final say on things.

Not having a go @How@How but didn't Edin quote none of the applicants were offered a contract, so that suggests to me Dave Hopkin didn't turn us down we turned him down, but then again as you know I've never been a big believer of Edin.
If it is Hopkin give the lad free reign to run the football side of things and let's see how it goes as you point out he did well at Livingston, he was a bit of a hard lad during his football days I can't see anyone taking liberties with Dave Hopkin either on the training pitch or match day.

The Big Issue is what freedom he has to choose tactics, recruitment and the budget and salary payment issues.

If the owner cotinues to overly meddle, totally control recruitment and mainatain a salary structure which alienates too many players, then we are likely to see little change.

In all fairness to Hopkins, he inherits a disjointed and misfiring squad.

Maybe he's told Rahic to keep away from the football side of things or the whole things off.

OK, let's hope it's 3rd time lucky in finding a decent replacement for McCall.

He seems to tick all the boxes, played at the highest level, spent 12 years coaching on the development side and then done a couple of seasons as a senior manager where he won a couple of promotions. Looks good on paper...

    This is promising

“The reason I brought him to Livingston was that he was no-nonsense — he said it like it was, he wasn’t scared of anyone, and he wasn’t scared of any situation, whereas I was maybe a bit more pragmatic in my approach.”

Maybe Rahic is getting us ready for a crack at promotion from a much lower level in a couple of years time? :)
Credit where it's due if that's the case.

Seems to me he got his own men in and coached them into his mould and majority hadn’t played higher up than league one before his tenure but he stuck with them

Who ever takes charge I hope the damage hasn't already been done and he can salvage it. Cant sign his own players obviously until the next window.

Oh no I didn’t suggest he had turned it down. He held talks more than once. Maybe we never even offered a deal for him to turn down? Maybe felt we were too far apart and left it there?

    Who knows

Reading up on Hopkins time at Livingstone and fans comments it sounds a bit like "Rock n Roll" Fitba this? The Ginger Klopp ! ??? Talk of his teams pressing high; getting in the opposition faces; quick to close down: wing backs; "can be long ball" but there's more to it than just hoofing it long. Livvy Lions fans enjoyed his style. Bit of "a nutter"gets into his players and directs and organises them well. Just what we need I reckon ! "Hoppys Army"
