Re Leonard my point was not to malign but simply to say that we have always struggled to find the mythical 20 plus goals striker. He brought a lot to the team but neither he, Ormondroyed or Goodman were really the key supplier of goals we were looking to after Campbell. For various reasons we didn't get that. Similarly though diff reasons with Quinn, he gave us a good goal return on the games played but we were expecting him to get 20- 25 goals through the season. That's potentially the difference between mid table and challenging for promotion.

So when we were up there it was because we had Futched who was just about still a 20 goal man, then Mills and then Naomi's little brother

Talking about new ideas at training with ice baths and that all the players are working hard.

I hope he gets us going again and gives us a team we can be proud of. I like the way he talks about the side and how hard he wants them to work. And he’s a lot more positive than Collins ever was.

Don’t think we will win Saturday but who knows? Hopefully we look more organised and have a more clear plan than we did before

 

I can’t believe we didn’t have an ice bath regime!! No wonder we have had so many injuries. Looks like our lack of physio has had far reaching repercussions!

I was lead to believe Hopkin was not spoken to during the summer but the latest @widthofapost.com article says they did speak but obviously Hopkin was having none of what was on offer then.
Vaguely remember the T&A reporting Hopkin was not in the frame during the six week attempt at getting a coach in.

So, which is it- edin spoke to the ginger ninja or not?

Well I think if you are training hard you need a recovery plan. Ice baths are widespread throughout professional sports, so would have thought a good idea to understand the science behind it. From my limited medical training, bruising, or strains, the first thing you think about is ice packs etc., so not surprised that Hoppy wants one, and more especially when training hard twice a day. Not heard about protein bars, but that might come into the nutritional advice about recovery.

 

The more I hear from Hopkin, the more I like what he says and how he's going about his business.

 

When referring to Josh Wright’s injury - ‘he’s been a captain’ - past tense! Thank the fecking Lord - it seems as if sense is starting to prevail, fingers crossed.
