Leonard is wrongly maligned in my opinion, he didn’t score many but he was effective at leading the line and bringing hendrie into play. I’d love to have seen this Naomi Wells you speak of, she sounds class

 

Good read today in t&a on Hopkin’s thoughts on this week. Gonna be working them hard again in training.

And he didn’t throw the players under the bus like Collins would do. I think we will get there under him. Looking forward to seeing how he has us lined up on Saturday with a depleted squad, going to be a learning curve about some of the “squad members” we’ve got

Another 4 or 5 defeats on the spin and Hopkin will be a goner with the philosophy Rahic started after McCalls first long losing run.

From a fans perspective, I certainly welcomed the appointment of Hopkin. I acknowledge he has his work cut out to keep us out of the bottom 4 these coming couple of months with the players he has inherited and the big injury list. However, I feel more confident that he will eventually turn us around, unlike the feeling I had under Collins that we were certainties for relegation

 

It will take time but I don't think its going to be pretty these next few months. Parky did it in his first season, inherited a bitty squad and got them doing the basics to grind out the required to finish the season safe. Hopkin is capable of doing that.

Weirdly the nature of the result on Saturday gave me optimism. Two goals away from home and the three goals conceded can be worked on. Whatever the thoughts are off the field Hopkin's job is to galvanise the support on a matchday. We've seen it happen with a certain Mr P.Parkinson at Bolton despite incredible goings on behind the scenes.

 

2 year contract he will not sack Hopkin. Would cost him too much. Others were cheap to get rid of.

 

Hopkin has my full support and gratitude for taking this on. Yes he may continue to lose games, but I won’t be blaming him if he can’t keep us from relegation. However, I am optimistic he is a fighter and a leader, and I think he can do it.

 

I haven't allowed this season's defeats to get me down because my expectation levels have been so low.

Saturday, I had a real hope we would get something from the game,especially 2-0 up,(when were we last 2-0 up?) but that last 15 mins really got to me. I have faith in Hopkin as a coach and I think we will stabilise and secure our league status if he's allowed to strengthen in Jan.

 

We just need a good pre season

 

I think we will see some structure in the team on Saturday which is something that, I believe, we never saw under Collins. Each game it looked to me as if the players had been given a different set up as to what exactly they were supposed to be doing, how they were supposed to play etc. so that it all got very confusing meaning that no one knew exactly what was supposed to be happening. From his words DH will leave each one in no doubt as to what his role is and presumably will be working on this all week. I read recently another manager (can't remember who) who criticised his teams performance and said words to the effect "this week will be about drilling them so they know exactly where they should be and what they should be doing".

 

Has there been any news on Hopkins bringing in his own no.2 ? it was left to be decided after the Blackpool game

 

No. Because Hopkins is not in charge. Hopkin is though.
