He was angry. I don't blame him. I feel sorry for him. Totally stitched up. He says that he needs men, and that the current experienced players in the changing room are not stepping up to the plate. On paper, we've got experienced players - he wasn't to know that they are all shot to bits and devoid of any confidence or motivation. Got to ask yourself why that is.

The squad is an absolute joke. Edins master plan because "he knows football", has ended one young managers career, and is well on the way to ending a few kids playing careers too. I don't understand why Abbott is still here, I don't understand why Drury is still here, and I don't understand why Rupp still keeps Rahic here. This guy should not be let near a football club ever again. Makes this "Matter of Heart" documentary even more horrific and cringeworthy.

Time for the fans to make themselves heard.

 

If that is the case that he feels the players are letting him down, then he needs to start this week and make them play the way he wants them to.

Make them play out from the back. Put O’Connor in the back 4 and one other with him, not sure who? O Connor can surely do it if he’s been in Center mid? Someone who will be brave and make them play it out.

We might not get results straight away but it’s ready then for when he can get his men in in January. Otherwise we need to start again in January and it’s half way through then.

Say to the lads you pick, this is your chance to prove yourselves otherwise in January you are gone.

We keep playing long ball we are getting nothing. Time to sort it and get into some shite we’ve got who are stealing a wage

 

I really feel for DH but as has been alluded to on here, he must have known what he was taking on.
In 44 years of supporting the club through highs and many lows I honestly don't think I've ever felt so disillusioned as I do right now. This squad feels pretty much as bad as I've ever seen and to be honest I wouldn't back us to beat anyone in this league.

This management team have presided over the most dramatic decline I've seen in all my time as a fan, and unless they do the decent thing then frankly relegation to League 2 may not be as bad as it gets.....

 

Rupp didn't buy us to invest, he bought us because he thought Rahic was sane and would gradually earn him money. Rupp has no interest in us and will only act on Rahics incompetence if the money dries up. If you want these cretins out don't buy your season tickets next season

 

You can't polish a turd, the players are shit and no matter what formation they're stuck in they won't perform, he recognises this now as do most of us

DH was very, very late to the interview and was very near on a few occasions to saying more than he wanted to on air.

I hope he tore into most of that team today.
How do you polish this turd of a squad and get it shining?
He said we didn't have any players who could play out from the back hence his formations and systems etc.
Our defence is as weak as I can ever recall and that includes players I have seen such as Marco Sas, Graeme Lee, Jon Ford etc
No leaders on the pitch.
No midfield.
An attack that wouldn't scare a sunday league team.

Losing now seems inevitable and , strangely, not hurting anymore.

Just how far have we really regressed as a club?

I have supported the club since 1961 and without doubt this lot are the worse set of players to put a city shirt, on and believe me theres been some rank, thanks to ER and his yes men our club is going down the pan fast, listening to Hopkin it wouldn't surprise me if he jumped ship I wouldn't blame him

 

Peter thorne was quality one of my favorite forwards at city

 

I remember at the time fans on the old OMB used to say we shouldn't play him and should play Conlon. Oh dear. hope they were wumming

 

Agree they are not good enough but it is now damage limitation which means using a basic 4-4-2 formation the players understand and sticking to it then picking the best players to fit,
Managers that chase different players and formations hoping to get one that works usually go down

 

You sum it up perfectly Morley. The rate of decline is amazing. Rahic needs to go now and take Abbott and Drury with him. Hopkin is the right man but even he can't change pigs ears into silk purses !

There’s absolutely no connection between the players and fans anymore and there’s not a single one of them that I could name as a favourite player / talisman.

People saying "why did Hopkin take on the job? he knew what he was letting himself in for". Let's not forget that on paper this squad of players looked in August as if they could be moulded into a decent outfit. A lot of fans thought that, although they maybe were unhappy with the vast turnover of players, the ones that had come in on paper looked as if they could do a decent job. How wrong everyone was - or was it the dithering over the appointment of a head coach and then the appointment of someone who was completely out of his depth coupled with a disastrous pre-season shambles that turned these (potential) decent players into the sunday league ones we are now seeing.

 

Absolutely no leaders in the squad whatsoever (with the exception of J O’Brien).

If Abbot is still here come Christmas then we’re certain to go down.

I hope Hopkin can get somebody in before January because this lot, added to last seasons garbage are the worst set of players in a long, long time.
