This is all very confusing and will be ringing in Edins ear loud and clear. He’s a head coach and his remit is to develop what he already has. Is Hopkin cracking already?

 

Not blaming Hopkins he has nothing to work with and even less chance of bringing in players/ staff of the caliber we need to get out of this mess

This is our worst squad for a while.

 

Not actually sure how good of a manager Hopkin is but he definitely seems to read the game correctly.

I've said it before, it's worse than our squads that finished 18th in League 2. That's not hyperbole on my part. I believe it. Have a look at those squads and tell me they're worse than what we have now.

I fully agree. It sounds like an over the top statement at first but when you actually look into it you could put up a perfectly valid argument for this squad current being weaker, which is damning indictment of where are.

I think a comparison between the 2 squads would make for an interesting thread tbh.

 

Yes DH has to take a bit of responsibility for todays lousy performance but for gods sake, he is not the real problem here. Those starting to slate him need to take a step back, he is hurting (you could clearly tell this on his interview after the match) but he has inherited a dreadful batch of players that were not ANY of his doing. We need to keep behind DH because hounding him out would only be throwing the baby out with the bath water - its the f..ing bath that needs changing!

 

He talks rubbish, no wonder he cannot win a game, Stick to the basic 4-4-2 picking the players who will work the hardest for the team, Play football and mix it up, this rubbish about young players and having to play long ball is an excuse, If they are good enough then they are old enough even the England manager realises that changing to 4 at the back and picking 18 year and young players with pace,
Drill them every day to a basic formation and results will come, Even from this shower of crap Edin and Abbo have dumped us with

 

I posted in a thread last week. Davies and Oliver at Centre Back would shit on what we have now. I'd take Ramsden over Mellor and certainly over Riley. Ravenhill, Bullock, Flynn, Syers, Lee Hendrie. I'd take any of them over what we have. Hanson up from over what we have. Pre breakthrough Nakhi Wells is still better than Miller or Jones. That's just for starters.
