Akpan was Akpan. Couple of good moments, plenty of anonymous ones, and blowing out of his arse after an hour.

After it went to 2-1 Vaughan was shoved onto the right wing and we went 541 ffs. I actually pity any player playing under this man, especially the attackers.

Scored and played not bad according to the commentators but was subbed off for whatever reason.

30 mins left, they moved Gillead to right back. I'm thinking, 'great, get Connolly on and go at him'

We moved Wood to left wing. Then replaced Cooke with Reeves.

We were lucky to take a point today, and didn't deserve to be 2-0 up in the first place.

I've been following the Sunderland forum since PP went there, they did not give him 1 minute to turn anything around, just hit him with vitriolic abuse from the start. 1 month ago they wanted a new manager who, they hoped, would get them into the the top 6 for the end of the season. Today, they've won 5 & drawn 1 out of the last 6 and are only 6 points off auto.........

Bowyer has quickly turned a garbage squad into a competetive one (results wise at least), I think he deserves this window because some of our players are really shit, starters are L2 hoofers at best and many can't see that. I can't watch it but yeah, see what comes in, what we can move out and give him the season.

After we went 2 nil up, despite being against the run of play, I thought here we go, finally we’re going to steamroller a team. We were chasing, closing down and Vaughan almost got another. Then, for some reason we sat back and let them get into the game again. Gilleads goal was something out of a 5 a side match - just rolled into the net because he had so much time and space.
Second half we didn’t even turn up. Second to every ball and the midfield of Akpan, Palmer and Cooke just went missing. Was only a matter of time until they scored again.

And when they did, he brings on a like for like player in Reeves for Akpan! Devit should have been brought on. Good enough for the bench, good enough for the last 20 you’d think. Palmer, I had to check it wasn’t him who’d come on for Connelly such was his disappearing act.
Mellor was abysmal. I thought at least Wood tried to get forward.

Doyle and Vaughan showed signs of working together, but without any support of any kind, they are on a hiding to nothing.

Once Vaughan went off and Paudie was given the armband, I at least expected him to rally the troops. Nope. Nothing.

The keeper did alright and looks to have confidence, but it’s the middle of the park where we desperately need someone to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

    Very very disappointing yet again.

Agreed, we need to give him this season. Hopefully the return of Donaldson and Devitt changes things but our performances don't bode well.

Ok, Parky has turned it around.... how? By listening to the fans mate, that's how.

Sunderland are now more attacking and play on the front front.

Owner also listened to the fans and club is up for sale.. without fans a club is nothing. Parky and the owner know this.

Bowyer isn't listening to the fans out anyone and is stood there looking clueless.

We won't go up under Bowyer..everyone is wasting their time and money.

I very much doubt PP had listened to the opinion of one fan EVER, never mind acted on it.:p

I am mid 50's now and am struggling to remember a worse basement BCFC side, yet we are in the mix for auto's.

Seriously, he has mate. The owner had a word with him and they both listened to the fans.

The league is rubbish hence why we are still in the mix.. we are awful ourselves though but have the squad to go up but not the manager to take us up!

He grew out of the game shall we say, no in fairness he was no worse than any other player today, scored a good goal although I thought the Scunthorpe goal keeper made him take the option he did as he was originally looking for a cross.

he should have had more today and needs to sort out his bookings but 11 in this side is a good return. He’s feeding off of scraps most of time. I was judging him more over the season rather than just today

Don't often agree with you but that's spot on.

    And Mellor WTF?

My MOTM was the goalie for that save from Millers header.

I doubt it, he'll have taken time to weed out the players not prepared to buy into the PP way, hard in a club with a lot of "fat" players, taken the flack and is now on his way. If he'd had listened to the fans, Wyke would never have played for them again, now he's a 100% starter.

I agree if I look at us and think we are shit, how shit are others? The standard is terrible, but I don't think any manager can make this (available group) into a good footballing side whilst simultaneously producing results so I am going to sit on the fence.:)
