BRE is the highest rated defender in our league on match day marks AOC is playing better than paudie so it may seem tough but is probably the right call but All 3 do a good job

We are in the fortunate position this season of having 3 very capable central defenders and a young lad in French who also shows promise. As Ricky pointed out, we've taken 7 points from the 3 games BRE has missed so it would be harsh to drop either of the O'connors just to slot him back in. He may well have to bide his time on the bench, which is fair enough imo.

 

Well I can find value in the arguments of almost everyone on this thread... it's a great dilemma to have! Like someone said recently, nice to be arguing who should be playing rather than who shouldn't for a change.

For what it's worth, I'd bring Mellor in for Henley, maybe Vaughan in for Donaldson (keep changing my mind on this) and keep the O'Cs unless Crawley have a particularly big monster up front - harsh on BRE as he's probably been our best player so far this year but, like Vaughan, if you get a silly suspension and the player who replaces you plays well you only have yourself to blame if you can't get back in

 

Love your comparison mate Messi and BRE, but I do agree until his suspension BRE was IMO our best central defender.

 

You don't change a winning team, the CB's have done well without him. Leave it as it is and if one of the CB's has/having a bad game then change it. BRE lost his place due to being banned and has to earn his place back in the team and not just have a place guaranteed. It's not good for moral dropping a player whose doing well and done nothing wrong.

 

If the dressing room pics are anything to go by, looks like Henley has been given the nod ahead of Mellor.

That comparison made me chuckle too, comparing possibly best player in world and a league two centre half!

 

I'd be happy with last Saturdays starting 11 but doubt it will be .

If as you say Henley's shirt is out maybe push Mellor defensive midfield and McCartan behind Vaughan with Otech on the bench.

 

Agree. He seemed to do ok by all accounts. I know Mellor has a long throw but I don't think we've scored from that yet so give Henley another go.

I still think that starting 11 can get a positive result this afternoon, not the worst bench in the world.

Two of my original players to score are both missing but I'll stick with my call maybe just not by a 3 - 1 margin but still 3 points.
