Luke James head injury, with 15 minutes stoppage for medical assistance. Not a lucky bloke over the years - hope he is ok.

The BBC weather forecast just shown on TV has temperatures of around 9 degrees at kick off, rain will have passed through during the morning leaving a bright day. Completely bizarre decision to cancel the game. All that hard work and potential damage to the pitch for nothing.
Oh well, let’s hope a game can be rearranged for Tuesday or we’ll start to lose match fitness and increase the risk of muscular injuries again.Andy10, George, vladimir and 1 other person like this. -
If the officials, press, teams and management arrived between 1.15-1.45, when even more would have thawed then it seems crazy that the access for the restricted number of people, could not have occurred!Inspector, Storck, Dubois and 1 other person like this. -

'You put an enormous amount of effort into clearing the pitch to make it playable. Why didn't you also clear the area around the ground as you're expected to do so that it met the EFL's requirements and avoid the game being postponed?'Silverbantam, Offcomedun, Faithful Bantam and 1 other person like this. -

Don't suppose we'll ever find out the truth about today's postponement but I hope the disgust expressed in various forums has some effect on decisions in the future. For what it's worth my view is that the ref told the EFL that he thought the area around the ground was dangerous and they acted on that. Pretty unsatisfactory all round.

And why haven't we been using the Tuesdays we've had free these past three or whatever weeks?
Football is allowing itself to fall foul of bureaucratic BS - as it usually does - but we're in a unique situation, and the EFL are showing real ineptitude to not cut away the red tape and get games rescheduled quicker.
I'm not saying Saturday to Sunday, but Saturday to Tuesday or Saturday to the following Tuesday - come on, I know sports where athletes are given a few days notice. If you're a professional competitor, be prepared to compete.WilsdenBantam, Gardscoigne and Faithful Bantam like this. -

Upon inspecting the surface, Madley said: "The efforts of the ground staff have been superb and, from a playing perspective, there is no issue whatsoever
So where's the bloody sense in postponing then especially where clubs are getting so far behind in their fixture schedule..........Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...bantam2708, JonButterfield and Faithful Bantam like this. -
On the face of it, this seems an astonishing decision. There are no spectators and surely a safe path for vehicles from Manningham Lane could have been created by lunchtime tomorrow when it will be much warmer anyhow.
It will be interesting to see how many other games in the snow zone are postponed for the same reason.meelin, vladimir and Silverbantam like this. -

Just listened carefully to the interview with the ref. First, he says the pitch is fine, no problem there. Then, commenting on the surrounding area he says,' That's not my area of expertise, that's somebody else's.' So who called the game off? The ref, based on observations that he acknowledges he hasn't the requisite capability to judge. Or someone else, if so who? If it's the ref then he has gone far beyond his remit. I would say that decisions about the condition of areas surrounding the ground lie with either the club or the local authority, not the ref. I really think this needs looking at.
