Nope your constant criticisms of him come from last season when you said he went missing for the last 10 games although his 1 in 2 record speaks for its self. This is irrelevant to Oldham as anyone can have quite games but if he chips in with an assist in a victory in a quite game I’ll be very happy with him. You can’t admit when you’re wrong and that’s an issue for yourself to deal with. You posted this morning and didn’t mention the performance or Cooks just again on how tricky Stevenage are. If we’d have been hammered you’d have been quick to come on when you got home and some how defend it as you know full well football is emotive and you like winding people up in your own way when they give out justified criticism when they witness crap. That’s why you haven’t mentioned the game until now as you had nothing to say that would get under people’s skin.

Gillead gave some pace and welly on Saturday and was really quite "unforgiving* in his tackles at times, some real crunchers. Appreciated by all of us sat near the touchline. Not sure how he dodged a yellow though given the ref. Right up Adam's street, doubt he will be dropped anytime soon.

 

Yes, he did well at Notts County last season helping them get into the National League play-offs. Earned a move to Stevenage and is certainly on his way back up. If all is well with him, he certainly has the potential to play even higher, though I think League One would likely be where his limitations lay.

These are the games we need to grind out victories if we are to be serious contenders for promotion.

I think we will see a more solid midfield unit tonight with either Sutton or Songo'o back, that said, I was impressed with Evans first half on Saturday.

I wonder whether any players might be rested after the hectic start, Angol perhaps?. He has just played his first 3 competitive games in 8 days after not previously played since January

All good runs come to an end, let's batter them. Get a couple of crunching tackles on Reeves early doors to test his mettle against the team where for whatever reason he massively under achieved.

I can't see him risking Songo'o from the start but Evans or Sutton can do a decent enough job there to sure up the middle and allow Cooke to get forward.

I dont think anyone says it will be easy but this is Stevenage at home we are talking about not Man U, home game, 15k city fans in the stadium, not a pushover but neither were oldham and nor will most teams. Looks like they keep it tight but this season really needs to be a case of NO Excuses. Promotion will only happen with rock solid home form. Looking at the bristol rovers stats (3 defeats this season) Stevenage were heading for a nil nil right up to the 87th minute and committed a lot of fouls for the second game running. Could be a battle out there tonight but personally am confident we can do the biz !

 

Its totally facile and irrelevant to show a form table that includes the last four matches of last year. They mean zilch, most of the squads in there will have had up to a 50% turnover. Leave it until we have six matches in this season.

I don't bother with the prediction league, it was made overly complicated imo. I'd rather have just quickly fired in a score and left it at that.
