Wow that has horrendous...

 

Mellor isn’t great but as son as he came off, everything Plymouth created cane from that side. For their goal Henley allowed their player to run in and get his shot off. O’Donnell will be disappointed not to save it but should have had to make the save in the first place. Novak missed a 1v1 where he should have scored. Donaldson missed a sitter from 6 yards where it was more difficult to miss. Should have had another from a Connolly square, and failed to connect... could have had 5, probably should have had 5, but were clinging on at the end vs 9 men. Shocking performance helped massively by the ref who was a certain homer. Connolly played well, as did Connor wood yet again. Pitch is an embarrassment to a professional league club. Better Sunday league pitches.

The WORST finishing and decision making I have ever seen.

Connor Wood blasts it to the far post...uncontested...against 9 men...with Donaldson right next to him.

Donaldson misses an open goal, AGAIN.

Should've been 7-0 and it ended 2-1, fantastic.

 

Not for me. Ducked out of headers and his decision making was awful.

 

Novak should have buried his one on one but he wasn't poor. Adequate probably.

 

I was pleased to be at Valley Parade today to see the first City goal of the season scored from a corner kick, a fortnight after I'd let Stuart know that statistic.

 

3 year contract signed June 2018.

 

I thought both sides did well on it, and credit to the ground staff for getting it on, the most obvious time the pitch let the player down was first half when I believe their winger played what should have been a simple out ball to a fellow Plymouth player stood a couple of yards away and it stuck in the mud leaving us with a chance to clear the danger.

Akpan was total dog doo doo today and so was Mellor and Henley-all get a 3 from me.

Everyone else a 6 and Connolly an 8.

I wonder how many sitters Donaldinho has missed this season? 10?

Plymouth looked a good organised team. Won't be surprised if they go up automatically. And great away support. Hardly sang but neither did we. Too bloody cold.

 

Maybe we have found our lucky mascot in yourself, do keep on attending .

 

I disagree - I can't remember any incidents this match that justifies this description. If anything Mellor ambles around aimlessly, when he's at his worse and then gets caught out of position.

Maybe it's because Henley looks worse. But actually out of all the defenders Mellor looks most comfortable coming forward

I've been a big critic of Mellor but if that was someone making his debut, we'd be pleased with their performance

Yes Stuart went over and ushered Dylan away, as I said cant call the first until I see better quality video, but it was right in-front of us and it was a little reckless, although Connolly played the dying swan very well, the second was a stupid challenge for a player all ready on a yellow defiantly the long walk to the dressing room, Connolly today at times was unplayable and made his pace tell, when their left back ?, pushed him into that steel gate he never had a word said to him by Boyeson he could quite easily have been booked for that, it was uncalled for and could have been a serious indecent.

 

Did anyone else feel the referee was a little bit... shit? But it seems his shittyness fell onto our side of the coin today.

 

I'd say your memory is failing you or has been spoilt by the admittedly far better Darby and McMahon years.

Let's get something straight here, I'm not saying he's the best, but he was involved in 7 out of the 8 wins we had that took us to 2nd, before more injuries occured. We must have had some star right backs in the memorable 2008 to 2012 spell, to say nothing about our time in the late 70's / early 80's for Mellor to be deemed so poor

Let's be honest. He's another who get's in the neck for the last two years. No-one gets any support. Play a couple of bad matches and that's it in some eyes. Play a decent match against a decent side and your still shite

 

Just a pity that we didn't put that one on one with the keeper away in the first 5 minutes of the second half. If that had gone in it was game over and would probably have been a walk in the park.
